Letters of Note
The content within Letters of Note is oddly compelling. It consists of old handwritten and typed letters (occasionally from important figures but often just from regular folk) with a little bit of background information to go along with each. This letter from Kennedy is particularly amusing; as is this vitriolic piece from Hunter S. Thompson. This letter from Disney is impossible to imagine these days but gives some perspective on where the world was in 1938 (as does this letter from Jackie Robinson in 1947). Not all of them are so serious but they're all worth a read.Via Paige.
