Bunny and The Bull

Bunny and The Bull
After first hearing about the Paul King directed movie Bunny and The Bull I was curious if I'd ever actually get to see.. as he is mostly known for his work on The Mighty Boosh and the notion of US distribution seemed slim. Fortunately, thanks to the power of the underground Internets, I procured a copy and watched it this weekend. It is, without a doubt, the most visually engaging film I've watched this year. Much of my enjoyment of it stems from the Gondry-esque style execution of special effects; lots of stop motion, projected images, surreal settings treated entirely naturally, etc. It's great.

The acting is perfectly British and contained all the dry humor I have come to expect and enjoy so much from that crew of comedians. The story, at its core, is nothing new but it's the presentation and the journey throughout that makes it so compelling. I'd suggest you watch some YouTube clips from it but, really, why spoil it? Just find yourself a copy and partake in the whole thing.
