According to this rumor Robert Zemeckis is in talks to remake The Beatles 1968 animated movie "Yellow Submarine." This is bothersome for a number of reasons

1. Why does this movie need to be remade? Half of the Beatles aren't even alive anymore.. seems like a moot point
2. Robert Zemeckis is responsible for Polar Express and Beowulf. Does another animated project need to be handed over to him?

I understand that it's a sure-fire money maker; particularly with the re-release of the entire Beatles catalog in September and Rock Band:Beatles coming out but gimme a break.. all of the movies to remake is this one that really needs to be revisited?
