Four Eyed Monsters
Four Eyed Monsters - a movie, a video podcast, a relationship, an artistic take on communication, and a struggle to get things done in the face of adversity. That sounds a bit cheesy but it's true. The most intriguing bit about this whole project is that the line is rather blurry between what is the couple's reality and what is purely the project. Susan and Arin meet online, decide not to communicate with each other in the traditional sense as to avoid BS small talk and rely purely on artistic means - drawings, writings, scribbles, etc. They film all this and eventually get accepted to the Slamdance festival, despite having run out of funding. It's difficult to tell if their non-verbal communication was just done for the film or if that's really how they met but I suppose that blur is part of what makes the whole project so interesting.Overall I don't think my description can do it justice and I just suggest you check it out. Spread the word and maybe the film will actually get distribution. Either way, I do suggest downloading at least one of the video podcasts and checking out the production quality - pretty much fantastic for a couple with no funding.
