The photography of Lori Nix is fascinating and small, fascinatingly small. Her miniature setups manage to create grandiose scenes, often set in some surreal, abandoned, quiet world. I'm really quite enamored with the attention to detail and her ability to capture it. Seeing creations of this nature makes me wish that more people understood and appreciated the appeal of practical effects - not just Photoshop and 3D mangling.
