Links of Thursday
I've got a site review tomorrow at work and I'm trying to go out of town as well. That means I'm squeezing a five day work week into four days... meaning my blog time is serious hampered today while I hunker down and get some tasks done. That being said, I hate to leave anyone in the lurch:
- Bryan Schutmaat Tumblr - I had no idea Bryan had a Tumblr. I am quite pleased to know now.
- That Cat House - the most well designed series of planks, overlooks and walkways for felines integrated into a home that you will ever see.
- Messbook - I should, honestly, give this more of a post than part of a bulleted list because it's a great collection of random drawings and musings but it's all I've got time for at the moment. There's something familiar about Nebojsa Cvetkovic's work but I can't put my finger on it.
- Dubai Skyscraper Celebration - they just opened the world's tallest skyscraper in Dubai and set off a ton of fireworks for it.. in Dubai fashion. Meaning, fireworks are shooting off the actual building and it's totally awesome.

Schutmaat Speaks
It is
no secret that I'm a big fan of
Bryan Schutmaat. However, I've never heard his own insight regarding his work until I read through
this interview. It's always interesting to hear what people cite as their influences - particularly in this case as it extends well beyond what you might expect. Certainly worth a read but if you don't fancy yourself a "reader" at least
check the interview to see a nice sampling of his work.

Jeremy.

Bryan Schutmaat dot com
Not that his
Flickr stream isn't enough to satisfy but it's nice to see that Bryan Schutmaat has launched his
official site. There are some new gems in there that I'd never encountered before and the old gems are still every bit as impressive. What's it gonna take to get a wallpaper sized print of some of these offered?

Bryan Schutmaat: Wanted
Bryan Schutmaat is a bad ass with a camera - it's true. I've been a fan of his work for a long time and now apparently he's got a bunch of work up at the
Wanted Gallery, all of which is for sale. It's always difficult to pick a favorite from a series of his and while
Ranch View Diner has obvious draw I think I may have to go with
Foggy Highway.. something very David Lynch about it.

Bryan Schutmaat
You know, I've posted about the photography of
Bryan Schutmaat many times
before but after looking at his
latest works I can't help but post about him again. I love everything about the photos he takes and think you should probably take a moment to enjoy them as well.

Must Not Sleep / Must Warn Others
Must Not Sleep / Must Warn Others is a photography collective that I believe I've mentioned before. They seemed to have added a few new members to their ranks (
Bryan Schutmaat included) and have a plethora of great new work. Just taking a look at the
news reveals all sorts of shows and exhibitions they've been involved in recently. Be sure to check out more from
Greg Lutze (and even more variety
here) while you're poking around on the site.

Monday Photography
Random photography sets for visual consumption:
This Image of Holga -
Ryan posted a bunch of his
Holga shots from a recent trip to Colorado and they are absolutely beautiful.
This image is particularly surreal. Seeing these makes me want to pursue creating my own
Holgaroid once again. Digital is out.. film is in.
Shark Breach - say no more.
Bathroom musings - love the color and the fact that you could probably spend a halfway signifigant amount of time just reading all these scrawlings.
Bryan Schutmaat relaunched his photography portfolio recently and it now includes several series of polaroids as well as a hefty series of great pics from his time
on the road with jon benet.
This image is particularly great but I'm not sure I'm completely over
this one quite yet.

Schutmaat / Faye
Check out the photography of
Bryan Schutmaat. Great mix of black & white, and color.
And on a semi-related note, I must send positive vibes to my friend
Jodi, who is on her way to live in Hutchinson, KS for the summer. If it is anything like
this, I feel for her. That's gonna be rough.

How is it that people named
Bryan have a knack for photography? Check out the works of
Bryan Schutmaat for some rather nice black and white photos.
