The Mighty Boosh have released an official iPhone app called The Mighty Decider that, in theory, helps you make decisions when stuck in rut. In truth, it's just an amusing click through of a bunch of favored Boosh characters saying new and amusing things. Is it worth $1? That all depends on your level of Boosh enjoyment.
Just in time for the impending holidays, The Mighty Boosh have released a brand new tour DVD entitled Future Sailors. This is the second in a, hopefully ongoing, series of documentation of their live stage show. You can watch the trailer to get an idea of whats in store but personally I think you'll be spoiling some good surprises. I don't think the DVD is Region 1 friendly but there are ways around that. Whatever needs to be done to see this, you should partake.
Paul King is best known for directing episodes of The Mighty Boosh but he's had a movie in the works for some time. The Bunny and the Bull is set for release in late November in the UK and looks like all the tricks / aesthetic of The Boosh have been translated to the big screen. I'm looking forward to this one to say the least.
Against my better judgment I'm very tempted to order this new Pete Fowler set of Mighty Boosh Figures. If they threw in a mystery Tony Harrison or Dennis The Shaman I'd be putting up whatever funds were necessary to make it happen.
What's going on?? Quality British TV seems to be slowly creeping its way into US territories. While I don't think it's necessarily going to take off in terms of popularity along the lines of 30 Rock or The Office I am still pleased that there are easy to obtain alternatives to the plethora of crap out there.
The Mighty Boosh on Jimmy Fallon - with the release of all three seasons of their show on US DVD the Boosh guys are doing a little State-side promotion. They even do some crimping.
Spaced on Hulu - Spaced! If you've not watched this series (featuring Simon Pegg, Jessica Hynes and Nick Frost) I recommend you block off a large chunk of your weekend to catch up. It's the perfect balance of nerd-y references, late 20-somethings finding their way and British humour.
Delocated, The Mighty Boosh, Check It Out, With Dr. Steve Brule
Thanks to Joey for sending over the upcoming Adult Swim lineup. It's nice to see that Venture Bros are coming back but it's especially pleasing to see that a number of new shows will be debuting.
Delocated - a family in the witness protection agency decides to move to New York and be part of a reality show. Chris sent me the pilot and I'm hooked on the absurdity. Plus, Jon Glaser is quickly becoming someone that can do no wrong.
The Mighty Boosh - finally a US channel showing one of my favorites. Maybe this means DVD's can be released on our side of the pond.
Check It Out, With Doctor Steve Brule - the Tim & Eric show is extremely hit or miss for me but Steve Brule seems like a fitting spinoff.
The rest of the lineup looks good too - with the exception of Drinky Crow. I love the Tony Millionaire illustration style but the cartoon is just not good.
I had a surprising amount of things to say about the Adult Swim lineup huh? I had no idea...
No word on if this will be readily available on the States but on September 18th Canongate will publish The Mighty Book of Boosh, a graphic design / photographic journal of all sorts of materials related to The Mighty Boosh. The material within looks great for any hardcore Boosh fan but it's an even better added bonus that that majority of designs and photoshoots were put together by Dave Brown - better known as Bollo.
I stumbled across the official site for PieFace Records last night and couldn't be more pleased with what I heard. If PieFace doesn't ring a bell, you aren't watching enough of The Mighty Boosh, for which you should be ashamed. I was actually hunting for an mp3 of "Electro Boy, Electro Girl" but having stumbled across this page I think I'll probably have "Eels" stuck in my head all day long. It's unfortunate that the song's on the player are only samples but it will have to do until the full-length Boosh album is unleashed.
Sweet - a short film from 2000 starring Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt - aka The Mighty Boosh. It's not the funniest thing I've seen (nor work appropriate) but as a fanboy, I've gotta see it all. Thank you Mason Bernard.
Hulk Out - 117 reasons why Bruce Banner turned into the Hulk from the 80's television show. They start out mundane and by the time you hit #19 you have to wonder what was going on in the writing room. Via Kevin.
KoolHaas Houselife - this movie looks slow but it's basically the equivalent of architecture porn.
Only because Ronnietapped me to do this am I participating in the upcoming insight into me. Yewknee.com really isn't so much about me but just about crap I'm seeing on the web. So, if you're not into reading about some fairly pointless anecdotes about my life please skip this entry. Regardless. Here goes:
I officially tap Paige and Mixel to take on the task of answering these questions.. though it is quite the time commitment so I understand if they pass.
