Is there a real life
Atlantis? Probably not in the Aquaman style of things, but an island off Spain that became destroyed by a flood? Yea, that's possible. Link via

I caught myself listening to
G. Gordon Liddy this morning, as having political views means trying to grasp all sides of the argument, and found myself disgusted by the callers extolling the virtue of Ronald Reagan and viciously lambasting anything Bill Clinton did. Trust me, I'm not being liberal here - they
both had massive amounts of shortcomings. I'm not trying to
hate on Reagan, but to label him as "Our Greatest President" as Mr. Liddy is doing is absolutely insane. What about Franklin Roosevelt and his New Deal? or
any one of our founding fathers? I contend that Zachary Taylor or Benjamin Harrison are in fact our greatest Presidents.. why? Because you don't know anything about them - which means they came and went without causing much of a stir. Well actually,
both of
them probably weren't so great either. These people are politicians and obviously have vested interest in one side or the other...

I've taken over

The trailer for the
Donnie Darko re-release is online right
here. Not a ton of noticeable differences just judging from the trailer with the exception for a few special effect tweaks and the inclusion
Watership Down footage. I hope people go and see the movie and then fully explore the
official site.. which I still think is one of the best things on the web.

Another eyebrow raising read right
here about "Why the FCC should die." I won't bother to share my opinion on this one.. but I will say that it's an interesting read.

Speaking of
Kurt Vonnegut, have you seen his
screenprints? I had not and am rather enjoying "Trout's Tomb", "Freedom", and "Objet Trouve." When it says "hand printed" you think it means Vonnegut himself did it? Something tells me no...

Excellent article by Kurt Vonnegut entitled
AlterNet: Cold Turkey. For those of you that read it and find it be some sort of slanderous take on America, take a step back and consider the possibility that maybe it's a slander on the human race and our ingrained shortcomings....

Solve all your form validation needs with
fValidate. Insane amounts of custom error reporting and apparently it's rather easy to setup. Unfortunately most of the forms I make are in Flash, but I am sure this thing will come in handy sometime. Link via

Not to take away from the label research (see below), but I feel compelled to share
this photo. If you're not a fan of photography, forget about it.. this is different. 1 picture, takes 2 seconds to look at.. and it's rad. Everyone will appreciate it.

I'm trying to do some web design research - what is your favorite record label website? I'm not asking what your favorite label is, or what the strongest roster is, I'm asking what
site pleases you the most. And it'd be nice to know why..
For example, I think the
Stones Throw site is clean, to the point, and chalk full of information. So what is your favorite?

Check out
I Love You, Baby. The Lost and Found flyers are amazing, Fleshy the Elephant is bound to be a hit cartoon character someday, and the Shirts and Skins art show has a ridiculous amount of work to be viewed (be it good or bad, it is at least high volume).

Someone commented that I need to post about the fact that
Creed broke up. Aside from having some incredibly, ridiculously, dreadfully, mediocre music - they also have (and this is not an exaggeration) the absolute worst album art / graphic design known to man. Seriously, if you haven't seen the cover to their last album, look at it
now. But I was never pissy about Creed.. they are just another horrible band.. granted, they used their not-so-psuedo religious undertones to make massive profits in the commercialized world of secular music but that's not really a new concept. So there you have it.. Creed broke up.

I'm typically not big on cars, but concept cars always seem to entertain me. The Volvo
YCC Concept seems pretty awesome.. kind of a throwback to the old DeLorean, but with the modern sensibility of airflow and interior/exterior design kept intact.

Nice simple interface, good concept, and lots of well done layouts/design from
PlayMusicMagazine. I have some beef with their "Bad Girls of Rock Award" but at the same time I'll give them props for recognizing
Mellisa Auf Der Maur has an up-and-coming rock force. But The Donnas? Sheesh.. Anyway, do take a second to check it out for articles / design beyond that, it kept my attention.

City Magazine asked 9 designers from 9 cities to create a chair within 90 days.. the catch? It had to fit inside a FedEx box. You can read more about the whole exhibition
here or just go straight for the goods and watch the results

The works in
refill magazine look to be pretty great.. but I'm not sure I'm ready to drop $28 for a publication that I'll probably flip through a few times and put on the coffee table (even if I really enjoy it).

Greg Kucera are worth the visit alone, but the embroidered comic book covers, beaded trading cards, and custom tee's make it even better. Via
