Yet another "check out this cool gadget" site..
Cool Hunting covers stuff like bluetooth enabled bike locks, leather computer cases, cool websites, or hot new shoes. Can't really have too many of these type of sites marked...

Hrm,
Kottke has an
interesting article about the future of Google and the possibility of a Google Operating System. Not sure I agree that such a thing could happen just because of compatibility issues.. interesting none-the-less.

Interesting
article on Welfare Queens - told from confessions of an ex-government subsidized queen. Not sure I agree with it all, but it's an interesting topic to read about. And by Welfare Queen it doesn't mean people who actually need welfare, it means politicians and power players working the system.

Geek out! It's screenshots of
gMail! Actually nowhere near as exciting as you'd think - but it's certainly a nice plain, clean, interface. What else would you expect?

Since I've received 2 emails about this in the past hour or so, I must let it be known that
Ken Andrews has relaunched his site with news regarding Year of the Rabbit (Elektra is pretty much defunct, so the band is kind of locked down.. oh well), and promise of a new ON album and possible downloads from the site. The site has a new streaming track / snippet that is pretty good, but too short to really get into.

Lots of great works in this
Romanian Stencil Archive. 41 and 42 are a nice usage of placement, 46 is super nice flow, 8, 10, and 30 are nice and amusing, but they've all got somethin good to offer.

Hot t-shirts or just nice designs? No idea, but I like
em.

Neat interface and enjoyable works at
SwedenGraphics.
Always great to see new works (or just old works re-arranged in a new fashion) from
Evan Hecox.
I can't tell if I like the works at
Samian Chow or if I'm just so perplexed by them I can't stop staring.

The "Piece 5" Book over at
NinjaCruise is a hot collection of Matt Curry works. The second to last one in the series may be my favorite.

Interesting balance of events this weekend. On the one hand I allowed myself to attend a showing of
Hellboy. A serious mistake, and one that I hope I can help others avoid. On the other hand, I got the new
Modest Mouse in the mail several days before it hit shelves (thank you Sony Music) and it's quite good. Lots of recurring themes lyrically, nice integration of horns and keyboards, strings (always good), and the Isaac Brock growl that I have come to know and love.

According to
this, things are looking promising for the release of Mr. Show Season 4 on DVD. Actually, I'd assume if HBO requested commentary tracks be recorded it's a pretty sure thing.. but it's nice to read about it.

I stumbled upon
Signalkorps earlier today, and upon checking it again, notice that it's changed completely with no archive. I like the work that is there now, and that was there before.. and I also enjoy the lack of archive.. kind of a view it while you can mentality.

Sorry there's not much to report today.. trying to wrap up lots of web projects so I can concentrate on other things.
We gotta make shirts for 4 bands in the coming weeks and while the designs are pretty solidified, the production takes a minute.

Many thanks to
Naz for the link to the
Red Ink like Blood PDF book on screenprinting (it's at the very bottom). Basically I'm doing everything right, I just need a stronger bulb and possibly some cash to get a light table together.

Nice April Fools site from
Ryan.. and a slightly shoddy, mocking rip from
Mason of yewknee.com. So if his posts are in direct correlation to mine, what does he do about the one calling him out?

Anyone got any advice (like
these guys) on building a screen printing exposure unit? I'm reading that some people suggest black lights, some suggest fluorescents. Apparently the blue end of the light spectrum is better for exposing the screen. Anything to cut down on a 45+ minute exposure time would be beneficial.

Possibly April Fools? New Scientist
reports that Google will start offering
web mail? With 1,000 megabytes of free storage for every user account it certainly seems skeptical.
