Lovely type from
Comfortable Lead. Not lovely in that Clarendon kind of way, but lovely in that fun, hand-drawn, kind of Urbn Outfitters kind of way. I'm a fan.

I'm doing my best to make the official switch to
Firefox. I've had a few problems here and there, but I really enjoy the extensible search bar and the choice of tabs vs new window. Anyone have any horror stories with Firefox or has it all been smooth sailing?

It appears that the
Unicorns show is cancelled tonight. Something about problems at customs or something prevented the past few shows from happening. I'm not 100% sure on this, but that's what it appears to be from their site. Tuff Luff.

No time for webernet browsing today. Got mad progress on my
kitchen and now I have to bust out some crazy HTML for work.
In the meantime, go check out some
Murder By Death (this
video is for a particularly ear pleasing song.. to me).
And while we're on the subject of work - what is everyone currently working on?

I have to agree with
Daniel, the
Mandarina Duck site is one of the more interesting things I've seen in awhile. Very arty but very useable - a rare combo.

The
Space Invaders 25th Anniversary site is worth checking out for the navigation done in 3D style of the classic.

This reissuing crap from both
Weezer and
Modest Mouse has got to stop. I'm sorry but it seems like a real slap in the face to the fans that already own and happened to have kept your albums. Why do I want to re-buy the first Weezer album for b-sides that I scrounged the web for years ago?
Modest Mouse is just as guilty (though I am sure it's just the arm of Epic Records at work), new artwork and four live b-sides? Isn't this just a dupe to get people who have heard "Float On" to accidentally buy the wrong album?
I say put out a b-sides disc if you want to release b-sides, but stop this reissuing crap.

Aside from going nuts on purchasing some CD Singles today (Hey, I had my retribution money.. it's okay) I also wanted to give a bit of thanks out to all the great mix CD's I've received lately.
Ryan Hale,
Mason Poe,
Scott Harkey,
Robbie Player,
Jeremy Davis,
Sarah Rose, and
Jamie Holland (am I forgetting anyone?) all brought some massive goods. Always enjoy hearing what people like, and especially what they think I'm going to like. I'll try and post exactly what was sent to me at some point in the future.

The style of
Marco is pretty cool - very cut and paste style but still pretty exact. Nice.

Lots of interesting short films at

If ever there was a movie that was completely empty, devoid of any substance, and still over the top ridiculously entertaining - it will be
Alien vs. Predator. I'm not even sure why this movie was made - but I suppose if you can figure out a way to bank on
two franchises at once, why not?!

I've never been a fan of the Nike style of shoes, they've always seemed a little ornate and ridiculous to me. However, something like the
Onitsuka Tiger® line of shoes is more my style. Not to sound too much like
Nick but those are some damn nice shoes (though nothing beats a good pair of Wal-mart brands).

While I doubt the limited release will reach my area, the film
Coffee and Cigarettes looks pretty interesting. Basically a bunch of oddly paired famous people talking - just look at that "cast" list.. RZA, White Stripes, Bill Murray, Steve Buscemi, Tom Waits, Roberto Benigni.. bizarre. Thanks
Slatch.

Nice illustrated portfolio works from
I Am Olympic. How often do you find a designer with with an eye for intricate detail, a penchant for interesting lines, a home in Kentucky, and a birthplace in Russia? Rarely.

Some fantastic photography over at
Enterwoven. The most interesting part about the portfolio is not that it's displaying photographic skills but rather hair, make-up, and style... three things that rarely get the credit they deserve for a good photo.

Cowboys and Engines - a 3D interactive environment. The Shooting Gallery game is actually pretty fun and somewhat challenging.
