I remember reading about Mr. Zavala in Anthem magazine but I'd not seen his
website until now. The Bits and Pieces are well worth browsing through...

Cool
interview with Pharrell Williams (you know, that guy in N.E.R.D. and the Neptunes). I've never really read much about him or interviews with him aside from a little promotion for the first N.E.R.D. album, very interesting to hear his perspective on things. Link via
Nick.

I couldn't help but be severely distracted by
this. My record so far is 320.5 - see if you can top it.

Several people sent me mail yesterday telling me to check out
musicplasma. I've seen these sorts of visual search engines before, but this one is exclusively for music.. kind of an interesting way to discover new artists.

I received a
USB to Serial data cable today.. and have been happily uploading ringtones and images to my phone. If anyone feels so inclined to make a hot 128x128 image (jpeg) for my phone wallpaper, I'll be happy to check it out.

Absolutely amazing
iPod ripoff. If the UI was as good as I've heard the iPod's is, I'd say it was a better product (FM receiver and transmitter built in) just not near as original.

Go read about the
White Van Speaker Scam. Then imagine if you were driving down a slightly busy street and some big ass white van gets you to pull over, shows you some "expensive" speakers and tries urgently to get you to purchase these things because they are on their way back to the warehouse. Fancy brochures are flashed around, a sense of "what a great deal" is attempted to be instilled in you, and cash is insisted upon. Would you do it? Well.. strangely enough..
Eric and I had this very thing happen to us, and we passed. I'm a bit blown away that it's a scam that is happening across the globe. Glad we passed on the speakers...

The finalists for the
Computerlove Poster Design Contest are now available for viewing. Pieces like
this one kind of blow my mind in terms of sheer amount of information, while
others just kind of leave me feeling completely "eh." Overall, an entertaining spot to check out some designs and possibly get your inspiration on.

Some nice goods reviewed at
Crown Dozen. Overall, it's strange that a site based on product reviews from someone can be so engaging.. but it works.

Why hasn't anyone alerted me to the existence of

The latest kooky incarnation of the front page of the
Modest Mouse site is pretty great. Thank you Modest Mouse.

Interesting
article about the company
Magnatune and their new approach to the selling of digital downloads. Basically the company offers a sliding scale for their music, pay $9 or pay $5, your choice. I've seen alot of praise for these guys but I just don't get it. Yet another way to obtain music online isn't helping the problem.. there needs to be that
one place that everyone goes to get stuff. An effective model has not shown its head yet in my opinion.

Aside from the annoying javascript warning and the whole "taking ourselves way too seriously" thing, the
Directors Bureau site seems to have a ridiculous amount of great content from a ton of directors. Check the Archives and enjoi.

It may be sparse at the moment, but I've got a feeling that
skylab will provide some worthy links in the future.. design, flash, music related randomness.

While not really a fan of Basketball, or Nike, the latest episode of animation up over at the official
Nike Basketball site is quite good.
Logan Hicks combines the spraypaint and duo-tone video feel quite well.

Nice
video of a large stencil piece being installed (in a gallery). "Remote Control 2003" is a pretty apt title considering the subject matter.

The
onelinedrawing site for
The Volunteers (March 23rd - Jade Tree Records) is rather nice. Love that texture style, and the site concept is pretty great too (love that preloader). I'm rockin one of the desktops from the extra's section at the moment, maybe you should be too. Link via future SF-resident

Superb photography portfolio from
Mondino. It seems the deeper you get, the better the pics are.
Here's a phrase I didn't think I'd ever bust out.
My Tuckus makes some strangely amusing and bizarre drawings.
