So is the
AFP a reputable news source? Because they ran
this article and I've not seen any mention of it anywhere else, nor does it make sense to me that Kurdish forces would hand over Mr. Hussein... anyone know anything about the validity of AFP?

Damn,
this stencil is incredible. Great message, impressive size, and pretty nice photo of it as well. Kudos to the artist for sure. Link via

The
Xfm Flipflopflyin Quiz is sure to be one of the dumbest names for a contest
ever but it's a fun time. The majority of albums are recognizable but coming up with the exact proper spelling of them can prove difficult (like
Sgt. Pepper). If you're enough of a nerd, you can easily
cheat, but where is the fun in that?

This one is directly up
Duncan's and

Some links from
Daniel... First is the portfolio of
D5ive. A heavy dark textured feel to the majority of the site, but the portfolio itself has alot of clean design and variety. Worth a browse for sure. Second, is
this site from the British Heart Foundation. It's an anti-smoking campaign so I think the link was a little loaded but it is a nice clean design with some informative facts.

Happy New Year Interweb and loyal yewknee.com readers.

Not much browsing in my world as of late, so not a whole lot to log. Christmas was a good time with family and friends. I was fortunate enough to receive quite alot of reading material this year and I look forward to diving in. I keep catching myself watching DVD's to fall asleep instead of reading - but now I have no excuse..
Hey Nostradamus!,
VICE,
Valley of the Dolls, an Andy Warhol biography focusing more on his print stuff, the history of posters, and many more. That's not to say I won't be catching up on old
Simpsons or playing some
Tony Hawk but at least I have options.
On a side note, I'm making a few mix CD's for people to kind of start a regular bout of swapping to expose myself to new artists. I'll let ya know how it goes, but anyone that is really into getting in on the action - let me know and I'll see what we can work out.

I
shaved. Many thanks to
Jamie for taking the pics. Sorry
Beard Contest.. you are over and I had to remove you from my face. For those not interested in the process, you can see the results

2 days left before Christmas and I have a bit of shopping left to do, and quite a few projects that I'd like to take care of while I can.
I put up my first
Woca shots and hope everyone enjoys them. I'm really quite happy with how the pic of
Jamie turned out.. maybe I can shoot more people.
yewknee.com is going to go into mild winter hibernation for the next few days / week while I get all my crap together and enjoy a little time off. I hope everyone has a great Christmas / whatever you celebrate and a terror free New Year!

Isn't the Flaming Lips movie
Christmas on Mars supposed to be out by now? Strangely enough, Christmas on Mars is being
celebrated by Blur. Seriously, a Mars lander is broadcasting a Blur song celebrating its successful landing on the Mars surface.

I am very happy to see that
Aireline will be releasing an EP in January. I am even happier to be involved in the production of it (werd up to
Skyamore). The music is great and if all goes as planned, the packaging should be pretty tasty as well.

A bunch of artists such as Jens Karllson (
chapter3), Nico Stumpo (
Abnormal Behaviour Child), and Lee Meisenheimer (
Destroy Rock City) are participants in the
LOUNGE72 2004 PDF Calendar. Basically a free PDF that you can print out or have printed featuring works from alot of interesting artists. Why the actual calendar portion isn't included is beyond me, but I guess they expect Kinko's to take care of that.

I haven't talked to
Frankie in awhile but it's good to see that he's got a site back up. Best of all, there are lots of new pieces up that I hadn't seen.

Whatta weekend. Much time was spent with
Chad,
Scott,
Jeremy, and Duece (who I
thought had a site.. but I can not find it at the moment). It's always a bit surreal to meet a bunch of people that you know purely from the Internet but it definetly turned out better than I could have expected. Unfortunately, I'm not the world's best host and didn't have a ton for them to do in Nashville - but I believe they had a good time.. I know I did. Many thanks to them for flying in and hanging out.. maybe next time I can make it out to their neck of the woods.

I was just subject to the latest
Garfield the Movie trailer. Ridiculously bad does not begin to describe it, but then again - it's not really marketed for the 24-yr old.

Today at 1pm I will be picking up
Chad Pugh from the airport. Why is this a big deal? I've never met him, have no idea what he sounds like, and really don't know what he looks like beyond semi-daily posts to the
Beard Contest. But I do know he has a luxurious beard.. he shouldn't be too hard to spot.
Throwdown 2003 in effect.
