I'll likely post some more later tonight if I find the time to browse but I have many family activities coming up for Thanksgiving, so I'm not really around the ole interweb. Go eat some turkey and take a nap.. it's a tradition.

Way to go U.S. government! Congress just approved a bill that expands the power of the FBI to a ridiculous level. Why is it that the major news outlets don't cover this sort of thing prior to them actually being passed? Statements like "The FBI doesn't need to show probable cause or consult a judge." definetly scare me. Don't be searching for kooky stuff on google anymore, because now you're a suspect. Well, maybe it's not that extreme but it's definetly a dumb move by our government. Read more
here.

Best part about the new
Cave In video? The moustache. The song is decent, the video concept is alright, the excecution is pretty good, but that moustache steals the show. Most moustaches do.

The trailer for
The Brown Bunny really does very little for me, except for the fact that it's directed by Vincent Gallo. I'm not even sure I like him all that much, but something about him and his work is kind of oddly captivating. Kind of like watching a train wreck, but really not all that disastrous.. more like a train wreck of awkwardness.

I believe I saw something about this on
Wooster, but it's nice to see the full skinny on
iPod's Dirty Secret. Nice to see some urban renewal taking place with a relevant message (the iPod
is the #1 mp3 player), and a nice website to document it... in broad daylight even. 18 Months really isn't all that long of a time for a $500 investment.

New Space Invaders

Apparently today is "Covers Day" over at
Radio IO. We've heard several Foo Fighters covers ("Darling Nikki", "Bakers St."), Placebo covering The Smiths, and now Catherine Wheel covering Pink Floyd. You should be able to open
this address in winamp to avoid signing up for the service.

Forget about that Warner / EMI merger - Edgar Bronfman (the guy who had his hand in the Seagrams / Vivendi deal) has
acquired WMG. $2.6 billion and you too can have a large label, it's subsidiary's, and the publishing companies.

Today is the day. Potentially thousands (if not millions) of cell phone customers can take their number and switch over to a different company. Bout damn time. Check out
EasyPorting.Com to ensure it's available in your area and then start researching the new spectacular deals that are bound to sprout up. ... Wonder what ole
T-Mobile is offering?

I put together a poster for an upcoming Self show and asked
Daniel to collab with me on it (meaning, he got the bare bones from me.. took it, and made it awesome). Many thanks to him for that. Check it out
here. I love what he did with the type...

So I got the following email this evening:
"why the new site? the old one was much hyper."
The return address was invalid. I just wanted to make sure "jimmy tidwell" knew how much I appreciated his positive feedback and ability to embrace change. Of course, this also exposes my inability to accept others opinions. Oh well.. Thanks "Jimmy" (think
Tool).

Have you seen
Law For Kids? Comic strips like
this and animations such as
this aren't going to do a damn thing for kids.. except maybe entertain them for a long long time. Why is it that adults feel that in order to reach a "youth" audience they have to go way beyond anything that might actually treat the kid with some respect and decency? Either way, you have to watch
this for the absolute best voice acting
ever.. seriously. So good.

You know a movie is going to be good when just reading the
character profiles interests you. So far Wes Anderson has hit his mark everytime - incredible art direction, character development, dialogue, and plotlines have always been great.. I expect nothing less for
The Life Aquatic.
