Jamie has gotten
Eric and
Daniel all jazzed up over his
new cellphone. However, in typical Michael fashion, I am going to hold out on getting excited until I see
this version hit the US shelves. Clamshell design is so much nicer to me.
Oh, and what's up with the cellphone number switch happening Nov. 24th in Houston and then slowly spreading across the country for the next 6 months after that? I want it immediately activate nationwide on that date...

I don't think I remember what the previous version looked like but the teaser for the forthcoming
Dstrukt is pretty cool.. nice colors and crazy dirt.

Oh yea, be sure to check the main site for
Polar Alert as well.. good stuff overall, not just the exhibitions.

You kinda get the jist after viewing a few of them but the
Polar Alert has some hot old school tape insert designs.

Chad returns from Europe and brings with him some quality links (and somewhat un-UK related). Check the
Tate museum for lots of nice works, including
this stuff by Paul McCarthy.
And for those of you in need of finding a wireless spot in a pinch, check out the
ZONE Finder site. A nice list of known locations for wireless access. Extremely handy.

Really clean layout, excellent text usage, easy to navigate portfolio presentation and just kind of a pleasure to look at. While
Projector mostly features the photography of Abe Atri it also shows some of the more graphic design oriented projects he's been involved with. Apparently designed by
this guy.

Hey! Guess what? You need to relisten to Ween's
Pizza Hut jingles.. because it's been awhile and it's still hysterical.

Looks like the
Tenacious D site has a little teaser up for their forthcoming
The Complete Masterworks DVD. Amazing cover art.. especially the minor details in the background (Sasquatch, he is real!).

Idea: Invent a website where people submit random creative idea's and then display them one at a time, one per day. Wait.. it's already been done and it's quite a distraction. Check out
Idea A Day for alot of... ideas.

So there is some hub-bub that Apple is
going to announce a version of iTunes for Windows this Thursday. While I think it will be quite interesting to see what Apple designs for a PC application, I can't help but wonder if the service will actually go anywhere. Are people not joining these services because they are too difficult to use? Too much of a hassle? Not enough selection? Or is it because they have a
free alternative? I'm skeptical.. why choose iTunes over BuyMusic? or the new Napster?

Original, amusing, incredible, and bewildering. Just a few words describing
WE FAIL. So nuts.. great animation style.. nice integration of navigation with the site.

Looks like
Duncan redesigned. Much better navigation overall, and I'm sure tons more photos of his new son Carter. Congrats again on that one Duncan.

I find myself at an utter loss for words when I view
this. That's all I can say.. I'm just floored that such a thing even exists. Thanks
Daniel.

Another Hi-Res site, this one for
ILYA. Really beautiful site but it takes a loooong time to draw out and when I opened a section it took me forever to figure out how to close it. "The Sound Of" section is pretty nice, and after hearing the music.. I suppose the slow, languid, flowing animations make sense.

I have been instructed to check out
RogueWave, but since
Winamp uses the windows volume instead of it's own independent levels, I will have to remember to check it later. If it sucks, I can blame
Kurt (but I won't since it's his birthday.. Happy Birthday Kurt!).

Cool looking page for the forthcoming
Shins album. The content area is pretty tiny, but it's more about the artwork itself. Wonder what kind of extra goods you get if you pre-order the album....

So
BeN and I were having a conversation about eCards. What exactly is an eCard? Is
this the proper format? An intro with a media player, bio, tour dates, and alot of external links? Is
this? No intro, a media player, and a healthy mix of internal and external sections? Is
this? Some fun animation / interaction but the meat of the content is actually the music. Or is it that marketing terminology has gotten out of hand and really eCards are
these things and nothing more??
