These works have a great randomness to them but still really controlled and excellently composed. Love the greyscale with bits of color splashes in there..

As much as I chagrin over alot of political agenda's and goings on in the ole U.S. of A, I have to give kudos to Congress when they actually pull through and squash an act that's totally out of control. Maybe someone can shed some light on this being a front for some other program they are going to pass under the table, but it seems that the
Total Information Awareness program has seen it's last day. Apparently enough people agreed that collecting every bit of information about us (including every transaction, email, etc.) was a bit of a "cannibalization of civil liberties." Way to represent the people's will!

The new site design over at
BuffMonster is great. I love the use of whitespace. This site is in need a redesign... hopefully I can do something a little more open.. any suggestions of crap people want to see on this site?

So, are 19" LCD monitors just priced at around $600 and you're not going to find a better deal? I'm all kinds of spoiled now on my 22" Lacie but I'm tired of having a CRT.. any suggestions on
good places to find a deal on a sizeable LCD?

Following in the footsteps of Adobe and Macromedia, Activision has launched a site for the upcoming
Tony Hawk's Underground - also known as Tony Hawk 5 (Numbers for releases are passe! Led Zeppelin were fools!). The site is cool, the game looks cool, but since I can't download the trailer it's a tough call.. but then again, it's Tony Hawk - how could it be bad?

If you've been itchin to design a shirt and have someone else print it up, head over to
Threadless and attempt to win yourself $1,000 (and possibly two tickets to Semi-Permanent). At the very least, look at
this shirt.

Lord of the Rings trailer for the third installment. Obviously if you didn't like the first two, don't waste your time with the third...

Adobe announces
Creative Suite. Which, I'm sure, is a great collection of new versions of all their programs but I don't understand the need to drop the version number from the software?
Macromedia has done this with their MX line of goods and it just gets confusing, and you end up using years (i.e. MX 2004) to distinguish the releases, so why not just stick with version numbers?

While I'm not entirely convinced that the new
Napster is going to go over
quite as well as they hope it will, the
animations and desktop downloads are fairly entertaining. Some well done branding to say the least.

Somehow I always forget about the
Insound MP3 collection and am always delightfully surprised upon rediscovering it. Lots of goods to download, and some new things to try out.

Interesting
promotional site for the new Douglas Coupland book,
Hey Nostradamus! I'm not sure really what's going on, but it's a nice collection of some well done Flash animations.

Two new episodes of

Channel101. Not always that funny but it's got Jack Black, so you know there's some gold in there somewhere. Link via

KNI site launch.. this time for
Iggy Pop. I must say that
Daniel did an outstanding job on the design.. I love the random cover images - dark, creepy, and yet still pleasing to look at (and when you're Iggy Pop, that's saying alot).
Sib also continues to bang out the fluid animations... great team effort guys. Oh, and big up to
Arlo for the continual php insight and
Kurt for being the kewlest "boss" ever.

Please visit
this immediately. It is, in the word's of
Kurt Noble, "Easily the best thing ever made." I could go on about the specifics of what makes it so great, but it wouldn't do it justice.

Woah, now
this is complete overkill.. but amazing in that ultra-nerdy kind of way. Oh, and
go-l.com is one of the most blatant
Apple ripoffs that I've seen in awhile.

That whole national "Do Not Call" list has been somewhat
squashed. It's not entirely dead but there are some questions as to if the FTC even has the authority to make such a list. Let's hope it gets approved.
