Ten Years Of Yk Records

Back in March of 2019, yk Records officially turned ten years old. Now, on Saturday, Nov 23rd we are finally getting around to celebrating that occasion. If you're in the Nashville area, come celebrate ten years of yk Records with our double venue takeover of Mercy Lounge and High Watt. Tickets are cheap and I promise it'll be a good time.

We'll have performances from Hotpipes, The Mute Group, The Robe, Tower Defense, New Man, Fetching Pails and Black Bra. I've not mentioned that last one before because it's the brand new outfit from Beth Cameron, aka Forget Cassettes.

I've embedded a little sampler of the event above but it's just a taste of what to expect (there's also a Spotify version if that's you're thing. There's no officially released Black Bra music and I've got some additional surprises in store I can't share quite yet.

TLDR: get yourself to Nashville on Sat, Nov 23rd and come party.

Spongebath Records Reunion 2019

Spongebath Records fans take note: there's a mini reunion of sorts happening on Friday, December 13th here in Nashville, TN at the Lindsley Avenue Church of Christ. Why this is happening at a church is a bit beyond me but there it is! Matt Mahaffey of Self, Matt Pelham of The Features, The Katies and Seth Timbs of Fluid Ounces will be joined by a bunch of other notable names for the show which also doubles as a Toy Drive. So, if you're not revisiting some of your favorite artists from an influential time in your life and you're into doing something good for kids, you are covered.

Happy to announce that the debut album from Fetching Pails is officially released today and streaming everywhere. You can also pick up a copy on ghostly blue vinyl.

Jill Townsend (aka Fetching Pails) wrote and produced the entire album, played nearly every instrument on it, created all of the artwork and made the videos... and she crushed it in every way. With a back story like that you'd assume the album might be a batch of sparse and intimate songs but this album is layered. There's tons of vocals on every track, space-y guitars every which way you look and hooks for days. Clearly I'm biased but it's great.

Get the vinyl and stream the record, you'll thank yourself for it.
