Someone provide me with further information regarding the
FLAC format. I've heard that it sounds as good as raw wav. Is that possible?

ZDNet previews
5 MP3 players that aren't the iPod. The Nomad Zen and Phillips HDD100 look the most promising (just in terms of aesthetics) but noone seems to realize in order to compete you have to offer something
better than the iPod, not just equivalent. Whattup with 15GB and 20GB models? Bring on the 40+GB line of goods and you'll have some people interested.

I think
this thing would be cooler if it had an LED light on the front that travelled back and forth and greeted you when you got in the car. Also, it needs a decal that reveals wether the car is good or evil after you put your thumb on it for a few seconds. No but seriously, I can't see a practical usage for this car.. it's going to be a very rare instance that you could actually use it.

I finished the latest
Chuck Palahniuk offering
Diary last night. Without giving too much away for those of you that have yet to read it, I felt like alot of the concepts carried throughout were done really effectively and could have actually carried some sort of a message but the ball was kind of dropped at the end of the book. Overall, big thumbs up - enjoyable read. I'll probably go back and re-read
Choke now...

I can't decide what to think about
Flash Components. On the one hand, you get stuff like
this, that isn't impossible to re-create, but would certainly be a time saver (especially if you didn't know what you were doing). On the other hand, it's kind of letting someone else do all the hard work for you while you plug-n-play your way to Flash riches... kind of.

So I've seen
Ideal Word linked just about everywhere now so I figured I'd share it with everyone just in case somehow you haven't seen it. It's a very bizarre combination of awkward illustration mixed with the quick "fad" of glitch art and old school ascii styles. Not that I'm trying to pigeonhole it or anything, it's definetly unique.. but it's rather difficult to form an opinion about.

Upcoming Nashville shows of mild interest:
- Mastodon at Exit/In (I've heard good things about them.. or at least, things)
-
Fictitious Records showcase on Friday at Exit/In featuring
The Features and
Lucky Guns.
-
Cursive (again.. Exit/In)
- Pretty Girls Make Graves at The End
And probably a bunch more that aren't listed on Pollstar but that's a good start.

I hope
this story didn't get too buried in the news. Not really a story I can make a funny quip about or anything.. just creepy and sad.

I can't help it. I like the new
Yeah Yeah Yeahs single "Maps." It has nothing to do with stage presence, or hype, or any of those things.. I just like the song.

In case you didn't know, today is Labor Day - so instead of going to
work, I'm going to
work. Lots to get done today, hopefully one day we can share it with the world.

I failed to mention that I went to see
Apollo Up (and the always great
Forget Cassettes, but I digress...) last night. I had heard good things from good people and found myself agreeing with their previously stated opinions. The music available online really doesn't give them proper justice... they kind of combine elements of
Faraquet, and some older
QOTSA. Good combo of melody and brashness in the vocals.. and it's always great to see a rock band that is obviously having fun while they bring the rock.

The new
Radiohead video is like some sort of new Brit-rock PS2 game. Not their best, not their worst. Thanks
