The new
Pixelsurgeon is quite nice. Very clean, very usable - but be prepared for a slammed server.

Looks like
Pitchfork went and got themselves an office space and plans to step things up to the "next level." Very interesting.

Big thanks to
Nino for the heads up about my flash content links opening in a new window. Apparently Safari uses the iframe ID, and IE uses the iframe Name. Good to know.

New issue of
Tiger. Lots of good work but the Eduardo Recife illustration caught my eye the most, even though it's only one page (or spread if you will).

I wasn't going to post about
Morning Breath, Inc. because
Nicks already got it covered - but then I saw the class portrait illustrations and couldn't hold back. All the design stuff is great but those really tickled the ole fancy.

Typically I check
Ain't It Cool News and
Coming Soon on a daily basis for some rumored movie news. But I am sick of looking at the horrid design and ridiculously insipid rumors at AICN, so can someone suggest a halfway decently designed movie site that I can read?

Pet Peeve #8475: When making links to pop-up windows, specifically using the onClick mouse event handler, do not make the actual href point to the # symbol.
Especially if your pop-up links are at the bottom of the page. This causes the browser to redirect to the top of the page because it can't find a named anchor. Use a javascript in the href, or make your href point to an anchor that keeps the user at the same spot. This pet peeve rant brought to you by
Scratchie Records.

Nice little
interview with Robert Moog about his infamous keyboard synthesizer and it's recent rebirth. Still can't believe Moog rhymes with "rogue" and not just Moo - G.

Trailers:
Punisher : The man himself says it best, "It's not vengenance.. it's punishment." I imagine that sums up the movie pretty well.
The Cat In The Hat - I won't sleep well tonight. That was creepy. I'm glad life isn't that vibrant and bright.

individual users from the head of the Grokster file-trading service:
"We know this piracy is wrong and can't go on, but for God's sake, they won't work with us under any circumstances."Classic.

Two quick points for the day in midst of work:
1) The new
Blur blows. Not that I've ever been a big fan of them but having listened to
Think Tank at work a few times I must say that the only thing going for it is the rad
Banksy cover art.
2) Screw a bunch of
Dancin' In The District (free Nashville concert series), hooray for
Uptown Mix! Ben Folds is coming one week, Flaming Lips AND the Eels (together!), and .. well.. that's it for now but that blows away the entire DitD summer schedule by far.

Sorry folks.. one of those days where I've got so much going on "IRL" that I can't quite keep up with the posting. Lots of
work to do, movin my roommate outta my place, and going to see
Forget Cassettes tonight.
So to make up for my lack of posting - whomever is the first to post in the comments that they want the
Fiction Plane debut CD will receive it in the email (provided you give a valid email address so I can contact you). If you got the last CD, don't try and get this one.. one per 90 days yo.

An ongoing graffiti gallery inspired by various media themes can be found at
They Made Me Do It. Very urban / Sex Pistols-esque feel to it, but still very clean. The first gallery is comprised of works inspired by Donnie Darko - and there's some goods in there.

For those in the LA / San Diego area - maybe you should check out
Agenda. For those of you not in that area, at least goto the site and look at the Art / Flyers / Flicks (I wanna see better pics of
this work).

Is
this the new G5? We'll find out in a
few hours. If that's a fake, it's a pretty darn good one.

Here's one to keep an eye out for -
American Splendor. A comic book movie, but certainly not in the X-Men, or Hulk style that you've been seeing lately. Link via the interm
Pixelsurgeon.
