New hot summer tour:
Liz Phair,
Jewel, and
Anna Waronker. They can call it the "female artists who had integrity but decided pop trash was easier and more profitable." It'll be like Lillith Fair but with none of that "songs written by the artists" crap.

That's right.. Grand Theft Auto III is a
work of art. Picking up digital prostitutes, paying them, beating them, and robbing them takes a certain je ne se qua to be sure.

Hey guess what? We got
crazies running our country. John Ashcroft is just upset cause his statue porn supply is running low.

I was going to keep myself from ranting about this. But has anyone hear the new
Liz Phair?? What the hell is going on?
Sarah and I were talking about it, and she's just lost it. No more singing in her natural range, no more music that was simple yet interesting (she's opt'ed for boring), and certainly no more lyrics that either raise an eyebrow from sexual brashness or curiosity about what would spark such a song. Nah, no more of that. Super simple songs that aren't really about anything worth hearing about. If you're going to be a recording artist, have something to say. And if you're going to be a recording artist that makes a name based on bearing yourself and your own creative ideas - don't turn around at some point and have million dollar production teams write your songs and lose all credibility.
Granted, the record was recorded / mixed well - from a technical standpoint it's great.. and I guess from a "pop trash" standpoint it's listenable as well. But I just don't get it.

Thinking about driving 16 hours to goto Field Day? Eh..
think again. Link via
Nick and
not the official
Field Day Fest site.. who, at the moment, have an "announcement coming soon." Weak. What a disappointment for a load of people.

Woah, scientists are hard at work at creating
Geckoman. Capable of crawling walls by being covered in new nanoscopic hairs that suction to the surface. Science.. what a nut.

I'd say
this will be a great thing if it gets enforced. But they need to speedily develop a new "do not email" list. In which the punishment is beatings with a blunt object.

Hate it when this happens. Check out
these Placebo videos. I rather enjoy "The Bitter End" but "This Picture" doesn't really grab me right off... must hear more to form proper opinion.

Warning - Political post. Go read
this article and tell me you're not infuriated afterwards. Okay, maybe not infuriated but massively down about the blatant corruptness of our media and our politicians. The media doesn't question the people in charge, and the people in charge don't feel the need to tell the truth. Not a good combination. Link via

Check out
Cloats.com. The work has some interesting pieces, though mostly just the two guys who run it goofing around, but the navigation has a bizarre narration voice that goes with it.

So Microsoft gets in trouble for bundling it's web browser with it's operating system, right? So now they are saying there will be no more
standalone IE, in order to improve the browser you have to integrate it into the OS and improve the underlying system? Yet another reason to be skeptical of Microsoft's forthcoming "Longhorn" operating system.
