I'm gonna go ahead and just steal this from
Chris - though it's totally his find. Which is a pertinent way to describe
Geocaching.. a site dedicated to helping you find hidden containers in your area containing small trinkets and/or log books of people finding said container. Sounds weird I know, but maybe it will give you something to do.

Went to see
+/- last night. Definetly a good show. I have been told that I now need to check out
Versus, since +/- is several of the same members / songwriters.

Interesting
article regarding some of the goings-on with the file-sharing networks. The most eyebrow raising facts of the article regard a new software called PeerGuardian that is working to protect users from the watchful eyes of the RIAA and the major labels (the article states that the networks are legal, but that doesn't mean swapping copyrighted songs is), and the fact that the major labels have admitted to backing technology developments that freeze up PC's or delete mp3's directly off your drive. Definetly an "Us Against Them" mentality going on.

Thank you
Killing Goliath for bringing me links like
this. I rarely get to see The Daily Show and it's nice for the Internet to share with the rest of the world.

Check out
Varan for a nice creepy portfolio of sorts. Oh, and be sure to check the "exit" links - more interesting stuff there.

I've been doing better about straight stealing from
Nick but
this link regarding Keanu Reeves new band was just begging for a post. Aside from the fact that the band features Keanu on bass, it also has Rebecca from some random Real World season (hey, I'm a pop-culture junkie too ya know?). What surprises me the most about the site, is just how crappy it is - especially the press photos. I can forgive anyone for not knowing HTML, but there's no excuse for a promo shot featuring swings, some sort of weird saturation with no true black, or a mild Photoshop "outlines" filter run on a duplicate layer. Ech.

Check out this clip from
The Way Things Go - obviously the inspiration for that Honda commercial that is wowing so many people. Link provided by emoticon master
Robbie (also props to
Dolan and
Kurt for pointing this out awhile ago).

So
rad. What a nutty style.. super dirty mixed with urban execution, but based on some really clean illustrations. Love it.

Never let it be said that
Jamie Holland doesn't love Macintosh. Here are a few worthy links from him:
Server Store - publish iTunes shares for other OS X users,
iTunesDB - list of publicly available shared iTunes libraries (this can't be legal.. don't expect this to last),
iTunes Sharing Status - share your status with the world (whatever that means), and a new Mac
keyboard.

I'm not surprised that the new
Blur cover was done by
Banksy, it definetly looks like his work, just didn't have the verification.

"All letterpress posters are made using hand-carved blocks, hand-set wood and metal type printed one color at a time." Check
Revolution Letterpress for the outcome of such a process. Definetly cool.

Tank Theory Brand Clothing has got the goods. Super nice illustration style done with some multi-colored screenprinting. I need to try and find some of their stuff when I hit up Austin later this month.

Not that I think anyone noticed - but the "consumed" section hasn't been updated in awhile. Never fear that I've become a poor consumer, I'm just working on getting all that hooked up to a MySQL database via PHP with a custom backend so I update it easier. Not that I expect you to be impressed by that or anything, I'm just trying to be all the nerd I know I can be.

We put up a bunch of posters for the upcoming
Aireline show (May 9th, Blue Sky Court, Record Release show - if you're in the area and not there, well.. we need to have a talk) and a good number of them have been covered up or defaced. Now, I'm all for sharing space for other shows/artists but I insist upon
sharing. Promoting shows should not be guerilla warfare, it should be beneficial to all involved. I think what pushed me over the edge on this issue that some winner at
Tower decided to cut the poster in half leaving only the pertinent information, just so there was room for their poster. This is unacceptable. There is plenty of space for everyone, just because your poster sucks and doesn't catch anyone's eye doesn't mean you get to defile the work of those who went the extra mile. End Rant.

The new
Deftones video for "Minerva" is up on their site now. Lots of desert and windblowing. Not sure what I think of the song, definetly alot less dark than anything off of
The White Pony.

Because of
Nicks request for an archive of stuff that's been on this site, here's an
open directory of stuff I've saved. I still think some of it is pretty nice but deep down I know it's all pretty amateur.
