While my political / current events posts have been kept to a minimum I feel like I just have to share
this. It's an article explaining the fact that the US Patriot Act is up for review to become a permanent set of laws for the government to use for "surveilance" purposes. I'm trying to do my part to spread the good word that this really shouldn't happen.. that whole innocent until proven guilty thing comes to mind, not to mention that it's the peoples right to have some sort of privacy. So,
write your representative and do your part as an active member of our society.

While I'm sure
Bryan isn't too pleased about it - the site for the band
Stupid is kinda cool. Lots of notebook papers, textures, polaroids, etc. etc. Not anything that hasn't been done before, but aside from a few HTML tables not properly aligning, this has some well executed ideas.

Poor
StickerNation.. exceeded their monthly bandwidth twice over in 5 days.. sucks to be popular. Where's the MediaTemple sponsorship??

Joanne turned me onto the site for that
Identity movie. Pretty cool site, nice blood animations, creepy feel like the trailers have tried to give off... looks like
Hi-Res made it, but it's not listed in their (recently redesigned) site nor in the source of the site.. anyone know who made it?

There are a ridiculous amount of good links from
Wooster recently. Two great photo blogs featuring street art:
Edinburgh St and
Tomas. And they've posted an
interesting article about the whole mindset of street art (aka "culture jamming" - ech.. horrible name). And they post the typical "holy crap that's incredible" photo's like
this continuously.

The new
Honest Magazine looks pretty cool but I think my fascination with buying art mags may be waning a bit. They are all quite inspirational but as you can tell from the LOADS of new work I share on this site, I rarely do anything with that inspiration.

Those kooky Hyperisland kids always produce something worth looking at for at least a few minutes. Check out the portfolio of
Mikael Selin. I like the "Young At Heart" shirt the most probably.. always tough to pull of an effective design on a button shirt.

Chris sent me a link to this
Quasi Poster and I remarked that I see it on eBay all the time. Strangely enough I've never checked out the rest of the guys work (that particular Quasi poster doesn't do it for me.. but there's some other good stuff). Check out his
pleathora of work dating back to 1995.

Kind of a crazy screen print style from
Yee-Haw Industries, and I guess I can't complain that the information is a little intense since they are "Fine Art Prints." If I saw this poster while going down the street... I'd have no idea when / where the show was.. but it'd probably be cool hanging in a posterframe or something. Link via
Mr. Holland (not his opus tho).

I read
Scott's review of
Race for Titles and was intrigued. So what do I do next? Visit their
website ( by the now defunct
OK Avenue ) to check out some sound samples. Big mistake on my part apparently.. just some news, links, photos, and press.. no music. Oh wait.. there is a list of mp3's in the press section.. which turns out to be the "Press & Media" section... gotta love sites that take exploring to find what you want.

Somehow I missed the relaunched of
NWYH. The coolest page is "contact us" but there's still alot of goods to view. Seems like some of the fun of the previous version has been replaced with more focus on the portfolio - which is good for business I'm sure. They've always had an enjoyable log, and it appears that they continue to do so.

The new stuff at
Oculart has less of a grungy feel to it and emphasizes alot more of the illustration style. It's still got that chaoticness that it always had but it seems like there's a slight shift in style. That's not to say it isn't good, just different.

Daniel and I can't decide if
PSD2FLA is a useful tool or not. Using Flash as a purely bitmap manipulation tool is kind of against the point.. but seems interesting.

I'm keeping the war talk to a minimum but according to
this report we blew the krunk out of a building where Saddam was meeting with his sons. Seems pretty ridiculous to me to think that he would be anywhere near Baghdad at this point in time. I can feel a rant coming on.. must resist...

Fire up Real Player and check out the new
