Sounds crazy but the new works showcased at
Style.com can be really cool. I never really understood the whole idea of high fashion until recently when it was revealed to me that it's all about the "trickle-down" theory... and that these new styles will infiltrate their way into your local Target stores eventually, but in a way that's more suitable for the common person. That's the theory at least. Crazy works from Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, and Alexander McQueen (among others).

Loads of nice works by
Basit Khan... makes me wish I was more prolific in the ole Illustration department... hell I wish I was more prolific in general. But at least I can look at a bunch of other peoples work and have my brain soothed by their pleasant images.

I wasn't going to post
Say Werd because
Nick already got it covered.. until I saw the packaging design for
Camel's for kids.. then I knew I had to share. Lots of rather professional executed yet quite amusing designs.

I remember
Kurt mentioning to me that the logo for
Upper Playground was seen around San Francisco quite a bit before the actual store opened... and while I'm sure I've posted about them before,
Wooster gave a nod to their
Media section and I thought I'd share. Definetly a nice variety of styles represented.

Remember that
8march2003 site that foretold of some forthcoming catacylism, caused all sorts of speculation, etc. Even though the webmaster posted at one point that it was definetly a hoax, and just for fun (apparently people were mildly freaking out over it). Anyway, today is the 8th of March and his big secret has been revealed - yet another example of how overhype can kill any expectations. Maybe it's just me but I can't even make out the object that is supposedly in question. Can you convince yourself you see what he's talking about?

I hate stealing links from
Nick but the
Damon Soule site really has a nice style to it. Reminds me of
Kinsey at times, but it's just kind of an odd mix of character design and graffiti style.

I finished reading Kurt Vonneguts
Player Piano last night and wanted to share that it was quite good. Maybe not as witty as later Vonnegut works but still an interesting story. It's always odd when you can read a book published in 1952 that is still quite relevant - what with the advent of "convienent" machines replacing the jobs of men, people inventing themselves out of jobs, etc. So another (unsurprisingly) thumbs up for Vonnegut.

Don't let
Chris scare you away from posting in the thread about bad CD's you own and should dispose of. But if I am too late and he has already scared you, check out
this article that talks about The Internet 2 (the sequel) where they transferred "a quantity of data equivalent to two feature-length DVD-quality movies" in less than a minute.

Alright, since I had all of one post today - I'm going to try and incite some conversation here re: CD collections. I personally have loads of CD's in my collection, and while a majority of them are bands I like, not of all them are going to ride the wave of longevity and be with me till the end of days. So, how do you go about deciding what needs to go and what might possibly perk your interest someday regardless of how you feel about it now? OR what are some CD's in your collection that you don't know why you have them now or why you haven't gotten rid of them yet. I.E. Mad Season - Above.. that one needs to go and will find it's way to the used bin sometime this weekend.

Busy at work and not really finding alot of great things to share so far today but read
this article about a guy who put up a site that killed itself after 100 clicks to a specific page, just to see if people could resist (it lasted less than an hour).

Would
this guy have gotten arrested if he had been wearing a pro-war t-shirt? I doubt it.. what a Communist.. doubting the motives of our nations leader and his push to test out our latest weapons of destruction. Free speech be damned!

I think the
Rebelski media player is pretty snazzy. I need to listen to the music more but
John is right in that it sounds like a mix between early AIR and The Doves.

New
Macromedia site. So far the most impressive part to me is it's "memory." Choose a product from the dropdown menu, then hit back on your browser.. it should remember what you had picked in the dropdown. Not the hardest thing in the world to do, but definetly a nice touch.
