banksy

posted March 4, 2003 #

Okay I'm finally able to view the new Banksy site.. maybe it was just a fluke it worked this time. There still seem to be some problems (I'm getting broken images in the movie area) but I still look foward to any and all goods being offered.

For the record, last night's episode of Six Feet Under pretty much sucked. The beginning was cool, but then what appeared to be the new direction of all the character's lives was just.. blah. However, the flash presentation on their site is pretty engaging. I'm sure the season will get better as it progresses but I just wanted to air my disappointment.. for the record and all.

Have you seen the new Silent Uproar? Favorite part is the Fischerspooner blurb on the right.. I mean, the overall design is nice, but the random sarcasm entertains me. Good job guys (those guys would be Robbie and Scott).

Rad illustration style, nice interactive flash pieces, and just a nice overall feel at 777RUN. Definetly explore a little to find the illustrations, comix, and other various goods.

something to do

Saw Dane Cook tonight at Zanies (why do comedy clubs have to have the worst names?). And much like when I saw Mitch Hedberg, the opening comic was pretty lame, the next guy was funnier but still not incredible, and the final act was flat out funny. I would have thought having heard the clips on his site so many times would tire out the material but the anticipation made it that much funnier.

mini-rant

Quick mini-self-righteous rant: Karl told me to check out Division Day because of my interest in Dredg. So I went to their site, downloaded a few mp3's, listened for awhile at home and work, and decided to spend the $7 on their EP (via Jonah). Now I was skeptical at first because it's only 4 songs and I'd heard half of them, multiple times. Fortunately for me - the other two songs on the disc are not only just as good but better. So, through the power of suggestion and mp3's.. I have been turned on to a new band and am spreading the good word. Thank you.

Mailbag link: Deozo Illustrations. Pretty cool style, and apparently the plan is for new stuff to be added weekly. Definetly an incentive to return.

I hate sites that are pop-ups linking to other pop-ups, but in the case of Messenger Bird I will learn to deal with it. It's not about the web design factor, it's just some nice art pieces done in a style that my eyes and brain together in unison.. enjoi.

New street artist I was unfamiliar with until today: Above. Very much so along the same lines as Space Invaders... subtle additions to urban locations.

ebay auctions

Much to Chris' chagrin, I am going to share this link instead of just having him send me links from it in secrecy. Who Would Buy That? lists tons of ridiculous, obscure, and bizarre eBay auctions. Very entertaining.. link via Jen.

Woah, Mr. Rogers died of stomach cancer. Noone could rock the lounging sweaters and mildly creepy hand-puppets like that man - he will be missed.

yewknee kinda sucks lately

Not that I HAVE to explain myself - but the recent lack of posts are because of intense work schedule to finish up the latest NOW release. Fortunately the site was designed so that reskinning it wasn't too bad.. it's all about working smarter, not harder (though anyway you slice it, it's time consuming).
