New issue of
quik and dirty is available. Strangely enough it's filled with illustrations that probably weren't drawn quickly, and for the most part aren't dirty. I still long for the enormous stencils of issue 1, but this is good stuff as well.

I got the debut album from
forget cassettes today in the mail and, while I've said this before, I feel the need to stress again how important it is that you order a copy. It's inexpensive, it's great rock, and you don't even have to thank me later. There are few local bands that write music this interesting (
Aireline being one of the few others in the category).

Note to self: Investigate interviews, resources, and galleries at
Stencil Revolution once you have more freetime and less work.

Technology is outstanding.. and sometimes a bit disgusting. Check
this out. A camera equipped with night vision and a special filter in daylight lets the camera see straight through clothes. Maybe this has some ridiculous practical application such as an alternative to metal detectors.. but really it just sounds like some gross way to exploit the ladies.

So how come Dan Rather didn't just assasinate Hussein when he met with him for 3 hours? I mean, that's what Bush wants deep down. Oh, and Saddam issued a
challenge to Bush. He won't accept, of course, but I think it's getting closer to how the real outcome of this should be decided - pay per view event between the two leaders to finally determine who is the real man.

I would wish
bryan a happy birthday but I already sent out a greeting to all those born in February, so that'd be giving him some sort of exclusive nod to his birth that I just can't bring myself to do. I'm sure he understands.

Ahh, I love it when you pay for something, completely forget that you wanted it, and receive it in the mail. Much like my copy of
Vice Magazine that I received today.

Safety tip for the day: Exacto knives fresh out of the box are extremely sharp. Please don't
cut yourself. I was unfortunate enough to learn this the hard (and accidental) way.

I never understood the hype surrounding
SHIFT until recently. I think mostly the
site reviews perked my interest (link via
metrosea. Check the work (and typefaces..mm.. ruski) of places like
21 inch.. or maybe I'm just rehashing old links since I'm the last one on the boat to figure out Shift is good.

I'm pretty sure I've seen the
WindMilling site before but for some reason I don't recall seeing all the work showcased... so, maybe you've seen it, maybe you haven't - check it out.. loads of good stuff.

I would say that the
GRAMMY's were a total waste but that Clash tribute with Elvis Costello, Bruce Springstein, Dave Grohl, and Steve Van Zandt (and even Tony Kanal of No Doubt in the background) was pretty rockin. Eminem's performance with the Roots was entertaining as well.. gotta love that Run DMC musical tribute. No real surprises and it did waste a large portion of my evening, so no real complaints from me.

The
Michael Mabry poster on Another Poster for Peace is phenomenal. I wouldn't mind seeing some of those around town.

Space Invaders Kit from
Arkitip - but I assume it's for actual urban usage.. umm.. $85.00 is a helluva price to just put up on some street corner. I love the mans
work but that price is too steep (unless you just want one to display in your house.. then it's arty.

Okay, so there is a
Nightclub fire and 65 people die... this after a
Chicago stamped that killed at least 21 people... does anyone get the feeling that people are on edge and ready to freak out? Does anyone remember fire drills in any of the 12 years of required education where you all walk out in a single file line calmly and orderly as not to bum-rush people?? And if you can convince me this has nothing to do with
paranoia, I'd love to hear it.

More nerdy comic book movie adaptation news - apparently
Alfred Molina (that's Diego from
Frida) will be playing
Dr. Octopus in the next Spider-Man film. If he cackles "I'll get you, Spider-Man!" at any point during the movie then it will be a good choice.

Two random things: 1)
This ad looks kinda like the quirky style of
Now Wash Your Hands. Am I wrong? Maybe. Is that a completely pointless observation? Definetly. 2) I have been getting SPAM that contains embedded autoplay video in it - I would appreciate it if the SPAM'ers of the world would quickly realize that SPAM does not work, and go back to their pyramid schemes.

Not to beat a dead horse with the whole "current events" log entries.. but I think that
this is actually a great idea. I hope someone in DC has the sense to plaster the city.
