MT comments are good. Proof of this lies in the linkage to the photography portfolio of
Robyn Twomey - which comes straight
Jeremy via the comments. It's worth a visit even if just for the 3rd "environments" photo - though there are loads of other good ones.

This morning was like Christmas. I woke up at 7:15 and looked out my window wondering "did it snow!?" and discovered.. it had not.. fell back asleep.. woke up at 9:30 - tried again, and viola. Tennessee snow (it's rare). Must take photos today (must find b/w film).

The
Volvo XC90 site is insanely long.. and yet still entertaining the whole way (warning for
Buzzard - it does go full-screen).

I wasn't kidding when I said it was nerdy post day. Check out this
computer case. It's definetly refreshing to see something way beyond the standard case with a window on it. Nice bit of trickery going on.

I'm going full-force with the nerdy references today: Such as
this site that attempts to explain the possible connection between Led Zeppelin's "The Battle Of Evermore" with JRR Tolkiens
Lord Of The Rings Trilogy. He does say "ringwraith" in the song.. so maybe it is.... (
Update: Arlo reminds me that Gollum is referenced in "Ramble On" so this is really a pointless comparison since it's so blatant.)

The site for
Buck65 was made by
Presstube. Could ya tell? Pretty stylized piece of work.. nice drawings and simple layout.

Some crazy goods in the shop at
Tokion (including a Shepard Fairey "soldier"). The Barry McGee toy with removable head and shoe polish applicator is probably the most bizarre of them all. But check the
site out.. some good articles (though black text on blue bg does not make for the most comfortable read) - including an interview with Douglas Coupland.

This
DVD Player linked via
Duncan is incredible. Seriously.. streaming mpeg's from your computer to your DVD player? Insanity!

While his
official site goes down on a regular basis, there is now a nice
MC Chris Fan site. You can't get the uber-nerdy classics like "Fette's Vette" but there are loads of amusing sound clips.

Suspicions confirmed! That
P2P Hydra is being claimed to be a
hoax by the RIAA. Though that doesn't quell my fears that one day.. one day.. the RIAA is going to pull of something sneaky. Watch your back.

Be sure to check the new slew of
Obey Giant posters. Excellent stuff as usual. The Rollins, Loom, and Flava Flav posters are probably my favorites (because c'mon.. it's Flava Flav.. if only his big ass clock was around his neck).

Fun animation and character stuff over at
J6 Studio. The poster work in the personal section is the strongest stuff in my opinion.

I think it's safe to say that
Apeonaut site design is heavily influenced by
Volume One but the music is fairly entertaining and that ape is just too cool for school.

Love the navigation at
de-construct. Keyboard input is the wave of the future! The spastic (yet smooth) animations are pleasing as well.

Straight from
Apt 121 comes
Buck The Menace. Aside from the fact that I'm happy Matt finally got this off his plate, I am linking it to push that counter up.. I can't stand to see counters (in general) that are below 50 hits! Good work from Matt for a client I'm pretty sure he wasn't exactly 100% excited about.

So I read
this article from
Robbie and
this summary from
sibhod... and don't really feel threatened because I've kinda quit using filesharing programs (though with the soon arriving rumored death of
epitonic it may resume). I think the Gobbles bug sounds pretty bogus - but only time will tell I suppose.

The new
Helmut Lang site is crazy. I mean... it's Times New Roman text with the occasional Arial. It's the anti-design of designs. I'm not sure if I like it, but I'm definetly going to give it the quizzical eyebrow raise.

I always wondered why
Buddyhead made such intense fun of
The Juliana Theory... That is, until I saw them tonight (or at least 5 songs worth of them). Musically, really not so bad - but the completely ridiculous and pompous swagger of the frontman was beyond aggravating. So the lesson here is - listen to Buddyhead - Juliana Theory blows.
