Don't cheat by lowering your resolution or using some handy LCD monitor next to you, be a purist and take the
gif or jpeg challenge.. I actually scored only decently because 1600x1200 resolution isn't exactly helpful for eyeing pixels (not an excuse, just a fact).

I remember seeing
this on GI Joe cartoons when I was a young one... kind of odd and scary that it's becoming a reality. What'll they think of next? Maybe Saddam will cross mutate himself with a venomous snake and then hire the Tomax and Xamot twins that feel each others pain.

Click
here to watch
Verne Troyer be dwarfed by a 17" Powerbook. And please note when the people open their Powerbooks that the displays are already warmed up and displaying Quicktime movies - Mac's are so revolutionary they don't even need to boot!

The greatest band in the world is supposedly making a
movie. An hour and a half episode of Tenacious D might be a bit much - or it might be ridiculously genius.

Went to see
Catch Me if You Can tonight and actually enjoyed it. Not life-changing or really even thought provoking but it was entertaining. Steven Speilberg proves yet again that he has the best yes men in the business as it was about a half hour too long. Christopher Walken makes up for that - he's instant entertainment. Oh, and the title sequence animations were really well done - anyone got a clue who did those?

Did you buy a CD between 1995 and 2000? Would you like a check for roughly $5 - $20 because of
corporate price fixing? You don't need a receipt, you just have to goto
this site and fill out the
claim form. The only catch is that if more than 8.8 million people apply (only 30,000 have so far) then you'll get no money and the settlement cash (about $44 million) will goto public entities and nonprofit organizations. Not a bad deal either way - free money or the possibility of helping out a company that probably needs it.

New
17" Powerbooks from Apple. Incredible! Now if only I could rationalize getting a notebook.. don't think that's gonna happen.

The Cult (Chuck Palahniuk fansite) with loads of information. They report that
Choke has been optioned for a feature film... I just wonder how the screenplay adaptation will turn out (Link via the annex-free

Two goodies from
sibhod. 1) Image of the new
GameBoy Advanced. Even if you're not a videogame nerd you can appreciate the design and just how far the ole Gameboy has come. 2) The late, but still highly appreciated, Christmas gift book -
Just Shoot. So many pictures, very inspiring.

It's rare that I can rediscover a site every month and every single time (without fail) it's just as entertaining and engaging as it was previously. I love
Vice Magazine.. I can't express just how much I enjoy this publication. Now if only I lived remotely close to a town it gets distributed to.

Holy crap, America's laziness has reached an all time low with
Peanut Butter Slices. That's right.. peanut butter packaged as if it were pre-sliced cheese. Sure the article is dated July 17, 2001 and I've still never seen or heard of it before now - but it still invokes an intense reaction. Link via
make up your mind (the comments on the crazy beer she and
bryan found).

It may be
Just Design but it's really rad. Well designed site (noice messy graffiti/spraypaint feel mixed with illustrations). The Tagraph posters are quite nice.

Interesting NY Times
article about Microsoft possibily losing it's rights to "Windows" as a brand due to
Lindows doing their best to persuade a federal court that "Windows" doesn't mean Microsoft, it just means a windowed GUI. Link via
