New issue
tiger is out. Not my favorite one to date but definetly some really great varied works.

It's always interesting when a "corporate" site goes through a major overhaul. Such as the new
Pollstar layout. Basically the same as it ever was, but kind of a step up.

Lots of interesting information over at
Wow Web Designs. I enjoyed the Top 25 list - just to see what these people enjoy the most. #2 is
Ry-Guy which I'd never seen before... some really well done animation. Thanks for the link
Brian.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong but I thought the
Cat In The Hat wasn't supposed to be
extremely creepy - but apparently I was wrong. Thank you
Nick.

New issue of lomography. This time it's
Vehicles. I like the "standard" photos more than the one's taken from the multiple lens cameras (pic 10 is great).

Check out
Dominey Design - really fun illustration and animation style. A light-hearted fun site if you will. And very well designed, the use of typography pleases me.

Check out
calendar project today for a piece from
ben fraNk. Quite amusing. And for those of you not reading this on the day that it was posted - his work is on October 9th, 2002.

Oh man, just when I thought I was over my Burger King eating days
Duncan has to go and mention the new
Simpsons toys - getting them all last year was such a challenge it will have to be attempted again this year.

New
Volume One - this time with stickers to purchase if you love it. And you do love it don't you? Incredible illustrations.

Check out the works of
Dave Delany. Nice selection of photos and illustrations and a really nice paintings portfolio. #5 - #10 are my favorites but they're all good.

I need to express my love to
google. Without it, I would not have found
this fix to having my status bar show all the time in IE (regardless of folder exploring or web browsing). So simple of a fix, but so nice. Thank you google.

I may change my mind later, but as of now I really like Tom Daschle - read his comments in
this story. He seems so much more level headed than our great President. What is to stop us from attacking ANY other country after we go into Iraq. Lets take on China and Russia next - hell, lets take on the whole Eastern Hemisphere - our thirst for domination will not be satisfied until we are crowned Master Of The World! Many mixed emotions on this subject but I feel that war should be an act of desperation, not a political and economical charade.

My roommate and I had a conversation last night about how when someone uses a word in a new context (or just makes up a word) typically they are just told they are "wrong" - when in reality thats how our language is supposed to grow and keep its constantly evolving lifecycle going. So I propose an alternative definition and pronunciation for the word
lunger. Here's the new deal:
Lunger (lung·gr) - the state of craving a cigarette (see also
Lungry - i.e. "I am lungry").

This weekend is devoted to several projects - so posting will be slim. In the meantime - here are some things for you to browse:
Koan Design - another example of the threeoh scroller being snatched but I enjoy the layout, colors, etc so I'll cut it some slack. Also check out
this thing from Eric Myer - it's just an odd sort of entertainment (click different combos of heads top and bottom). Links via the ever popping-and-locking
Jeremy.

Ignorance not only equals bliss but apparently a ginormous stack of cash as well. Betty Bullock was awarded
$28 billion (yes, billion) in punitive damages via her case against Philip Morris tobacco. I don't even want to begin to rant on how utterly ridiculous this is. Does anyone remember when billion was a joke number? Like "yea, a billion gazillion trillion!" Billion is incomprehensible. At least she can afford a carton now.

There's a new
My America column up - go read it. In fact, go read the whole new issue of
VICE - and then go thank
nick for pointing out to me (and consequently, to you) that the site had been updated.
