As we approach 2019, I invite you ALL to join me & @yewknee in encouraging @nbcsnl to book Garth Brooks & Chris Gaines for the 20th anniversary of the greatest Saturday Night Live episode of all time

As promised, I've updated the Garth Brooks Chris Gaines Countdown site with a slew of GIFs for both your amusement and your usage to urge @nbcsnl to make the right choice to bring Garth (and Chris) back in 2019.
For those of you that have no idea what I'm talking about - the Garth Brooks Chris Gaines Countdown site is a celebration of the fact that country music legend Garth Brooks hosted the show in 2009 and appeared as the musical guest. There have been hosts that also perform musically many other times in the history of the show that exactly zero that have performed under an enigmatic pseudonym that that audience knew nothing about. It was bold, it was weird and it is worth celebrating.
So, the site has a ton of GIFs that you can save and tweet. They're also all on Giphy if you prefer that. There's no easy way to attach a gif to a tweet programmatically, so I urge you to make your own local copy of the repository.
There are more GIFs coming soon as I finish converting the second half of the episode. Please, enjoy.
I bullied my way into an episode of fan/fiction w/ andrew/zach and things got blue. Turns out, when looking for fan/fic about a popular female protaganist, the creative minds of the Internet go for the gutter! Who knew!?
So, take that as a warning if you're going to dive in here - there's absolutely some vulgarity and sexual situations. Aside from that, it's also hilarious.
The latest episode of Hott Minute features special guest Alex Caress, aka Little Bandit. The trio have been friends for years so the absurdity flows at a delightful pace.
I love every episode of this show but each one usually has a standout moment for me. The tidbit in here about Puppet Muppet Babies is pretty much gold, as is the game of fake Hallmark movies that Alex brings to play.
Long story short, it's a fun one. Enjoy... and subscribe!
I threw a holiday party this week for those involved with yk Records and We Own This Town. Maybe that's self-indulgent but when do indie artists and smalltime podcasters get a chance to celebrate together? If you're interested, there's plenty of photos from the event, including one where I look alarmingly bald.
The above GIF is taken from the trailer for The Favourite, the new Yorgos Lanthimos film. He did The Lobster and Killing of a Sacred Deer if you're not familiar with the name and this one looks like another quality entry in his filmography. I can't recall the last time I saw Olivia Colman on the big screen but I welcome it.
Snow Zoomies - I always find a Zoomie entertaining; this is true here too.
XTC - Countdown to Christmas Party Time - I've posted htis before (it's not a compelling video per se) but it's a damn shame this only exists on Youtube. A fine b-side!
Guide to Tom Hanks - I think this is an Endurance Challenge. It's unwatchable at times but stupidly enjoyable at others. Good luck.
Alfie the Christmas Tree - as we descend upon Christmas, take a moment to revisit some quality John Denver.
Quite simply, it's a spectrum of shifting colors; slowly phasing and changing. It's simplicity forces you to take a breath and immerse yourself for the enjoyment. The song is streaming everywhere but I suggest a proper zone out by staring deeply into the video.
For the 150th episode of Song Exploder, Lindsey Buckingham breaks down the Fleetwood Mac song “Go Your Own Way,” a song he wrote for the legendary album ‘Rumours.’ https://t.co/ldzMo4JIOD https://t.co/WY1OctuCLd
