Please take note of all the absurdly great work coming out of the world of
Big Black Delta recently. If you haven't heard the new album,
Trágame Tierra, rectify that immediately. Either steer yourself over to
Soundcloud and sample a few tracks or just
dive right in. It's not a far cry from his previous album but, clearly, an evolution in sound and confidence and all that good things you want an artist to undergo when they put out their second album.
Additively, if you haven't been keeping up with the massive amount of work that
Version Industries has been co-ordinating for them, dive in now. It's amazingly cohesive yet diverse. Wonderful stuff all around.

Swedish designer
Love Hulten has a knack for fusing the unlikely. Specifically, he crafts wooden enclosures with a vintage or retro vibe around various bits of technology. It's hard not to swoon over this
Retro TV enclosure or
wooden Macintosh but I'm particularly taken by his
Brix System, an ode to lego's, computing, videogaming and synths all rolled into one project. The pieces actually stack together as one would expect a Lego to do and even augment each other in terms of functionality and playability.
I can't stress enough how much you should dig through every offering shown on the site - from the
Sputnik lamp to the
Echo Observatory synth fractal generator, there's a lot more than just kitsch and nostalgia here.

I can't even begin to pick a favorite from the giant body of works bestowed to the world by Finnish designer
Siiri. The color palettes are perfect and the texturing is
just right. There's even the occasional
animated piece that maintains the vibe just so.
The deeper you dive into the archive of work, the more you can see how the aesthetic has been refined and experimentation has led to her current locked in look.

I've been a fan of
DM Stith's 2009 album
Heavy Ghost since its initial release and often wondered if we'd ever hear from again as a solo artist. Fortunately, that wait is over. His new album
Pigeonheart will be released on July 29th and you can listen to the first single, "War Machine",
over here.
The song and art are entrancing.. I can't wait to see and hear more.

Earlier this year, filmmaker
Michael Carter shared three short films covering the topic of love, albeit with a proper twist on the overdone subject. They are all beautiful shot and treat their subjects with respect and fragility (when appropriate). On their own, each is properly powerful but together they make for an even stronger look at our most complex emotion.
- Sarah and Bri - what's it like to be young, gay and steeped in Bible Belt conservative culture? Whatever it is, it's not easy.
- Dylan and Brianna - the aftermath of a breakup is never easy, particular when you're sixteen and have been dating the same person since you were twelve.
- Lil Vac and Tiara - losing a loved one to cancer is a difficulty I can't even begin to grapple with.
I admit that this has a weight to it that may make you feel inclined to stay away from it - this is the Internet after all, land of bite size, emotionless, morsels - but I think you'll find the endeavor worth it.

I've only breached the tip of the iceberg of the works of
Simon Hanselmann but I'm loving what I'm seeing. His regular comic,
Megg Mogg and Owl, runs on
VICE and depicts a witchy protaganist, her cat / boyfriend and Owl roommate. The art was enough to draw me in but
this interview with Hanselmann really sealed the deal on the subjects he's tackling about depression, drug use and the cathartic nature of it all.
Please do a deep dive into his
Tumblr and
Instagram - plenty of enjoyable pieces to enjoy there. I'm going to go consider picking up his latest book.
