Due to a slightly unfortunate choice (on my part) in college majors, I never got myself a proper art education. Fortunately, that is a problem easily corrected by feeling inspired by images and then steering towards Wikipedia and Google Images immediately.

Such is the case with this image and learning more about Wassily Kandinsky, the Russian painter oft credited with "painting one of the first purely abstract works." He taught at the Bauhaus school and has a body of work that spans so many styles it's hard to imagine. He certainly was no one trick pony.

I particularly enjoy the simplicity of this abstraction but it's hard not to be smitten with absolutely everything.

Really enjoying this series of City Limit Tapes exploring the non-Country, non-Singer/Songwriter side of Nashville music. Each mix is approximately 20-30 minutes but covers a lot of ground, largely in part to the actual mixing, blending and transitioning of songs from Atlanta's DJ Skarface. It's been awhile since I posted anything on one of my favorite subjects - deep sea aquatic life. This series of images from Alexander Semenov captures some unbelievable creatures with nearly unpronounceable names - Eutonina indicans, Cyanea rainbow, Cestum veneris, etc. It's hard to imagine seeing these in their natural habitat and even harder to imagine how Semenov was able to capture such wonderful photos of them.
