Given that it's nearing the end of October the dosage of Halloween epherema in your life really needs to be cranked up. So, steer your browser over to
Graves and Ghouls, a Tumblog dedicated to loads of
creepy family photos, animated
GIFS and
classic illustrations of the spooky variety. It's what the (witch) doctor ordered.

Hey, it's October 21st, 2015!
The day that Marty, Doc and Jennifer travel to the future to find out what's wrong with Marty's future children. Understandably, the movie is way off base for how the future actually looks but I find some weird satisfaction in
dissecting the specifics. There's not flying dog walkers but there are automated vacuum cleaners. There's not household VR glasses but we're
getting close. We
do have
shimmering hats but not self-fitting jackets.
Anyway, this is a
fun read if for nothing more than a walk down memory lane and, maybe, some goals to strive for.

Another installment of the phenomenal
Two Dots music has been released. It's a quick little three songer but these
Halloween jams are just what the doctor ordered this week.

Some
footage was recently released from thousands of residents of China reporting a "floating city" in the sky. Given the recent far off possibility of
found alien technology, I was intrigued and excited by this castle in the sky. The footage is bonkers.
Turns out, science can step in and explain it away with a phenomena known as
Fata Morgana. Light refraction distorts and reflects objects from below making it appear that they are suspended in the sky. There are
great breakdowns of the phenomena but a big part of me chooses to embrace ignorance and believe something fishy is going on. Way more fun. The
Google Images results are pretty astounding.

After reading through this NY Times piece on
The Lonely Death of George Bell I became intrigued by
Hart Island, a small island off the north coast of NYC that has served as a prison, a psych institution and even a sanatorium. There's a
new project underway to help identify the multitude of bodies that are anonymously buried out there in mass graves. There are plenty of
great reads on the subject. It is, undoubtedly, an incredibly creepy and compelling place.

Loving this
yellowbluepink installation piece from Brussels artist
Ann Veronica Janssens. It's a room filled with a dense mist augmented by colored lights - simple, right? The photos from the exhibit are equal parts eerie and ethereal. I'd love to walk around in the space myself but seeing these beautifully anonymous forms is a welcome silver medal for my eyeballs.

The first entry in this
Haunts series from Jon Contino's
Past Lives NY looks pretty damn promising for future iterations. A
Contino inked illustration mixed with a tale of scary poetry from his wife? I'm in. Follow on their site or get reminders on their
Instagram.

Add this
Zero-Armed Bandit piece to your Pocket, ReadLater, Evernote or whatever you choose to use for longer form articles. It's a fascinating tale of a bomb that shows up in a Vegas casino in 1980 with an intimidating note and ominous instructions attached. Clearly the device was handmade but no amount of defusing would ever work, it must be disabled and exploded at another location. Intrigue! Suspense! Crazed science! This story has it all.
