I already shared the preview videos for both albums but today is the official release for Codaphonic's double EP release - Oh Radio! / Mindwrecker. It's available on limited edition vinyl or streaming on Spotify and Rdio if that's what you prefer.

When someone tells you that there's a new Allison Schulnik video to be seen, drop what you're doing and watch it immediately. The piece is pretty long - hovering around 8 minutes - and it has a strange grotesque beauty to it. It's not often that you see claymation creatures dancing in a traditional ballet style and wearing each other as coats as they rip one another open. Her work is so compelling because it's equal parts terrifying and beautiful. Truly an incredibly artist in every sense of the word.

You know Phil Tippet. That's not a question. You know him without knowing him. He worked on the stop motion animation for Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Robocop and advised heavily on Jurassic Park. He's maybe not been on your radar as much recently because of the proliferation of computer fueled animations in contemporary film but that doesn't mean he hasn't been working.

His latest endeavor is a personal project he started back in 1990 but dropped due to work obligations. Now, thanks to a new generation of traditional animation students and a successful Kickstarter, the project is back. Mad God is " fully practical stop-motion film set in a Miltonesque world of monsters and mad scientists." That is to say.. it's dark but in the absolute best way possible.

By the time you read this Nidhogg will likely be officially released. If you're a fan of independent game development that someone has poured their heart and soul into and managed to make an incredibly original, compelling and FUN game. I played a Beta over two years ago and didn't think it needed a lick of improvement. I'm sure the final version will be even better. Gameplay examples are available but I think it's worth noting that I've never met someone that didn't love it after playing it once.

The series of short profile documentaries over at Like Knows Like are rather compelling. From Tina Roth Eisenberg to Jessica Hische to Amanda Jasnowski to a whole host of others.. there's plenty of compelling content to fill your brain. Get into it.

Jed pointed me in the way of the work of Victon Gai - a NY based illustrator from Hong Kong doing some phenomenal work. Pieces like this or the editorial work for Nautilus mag is really beyond stellar. Very tight linework, great color palettes and interesting subject matter. What else could you ask for?!

She was also featured in the 30 Under 30 list from Forbes recently and there's a great profile on her from Like Knows Like.

It's been a few weeks but it's time to get back to compiling some distracting videos! Here's your playlist. If you encounter anything throughout your week that you feel needs sharing on this list, please let me know.

• GIFs with Sound - you've seen these compilations before but they never grow old. This particular set really knocks it out of the park at the end.
• Slurpee Dance - I've been around the Internet Block enough to not be impressed by silly pandering dance commercials but they managed to nail that "something feels wrong" vibe just right.
• Baby Shocked By Tower Topple - I'm biased because this adorable baby is the offspring of Paige and Kevin but I stand by the cute overload factor of this video despite that, not because of it.
• BABYMETAL DokiDoki - I have this strange feeling that other countries are really on top of their game way more than the US when it comes to inventing new, bizarre, genre mashups.
• WES - I realize this is low hanging fruit but Wes Anderson slow-mo shots paired with early Shins is not something I can avoid enjoying.
• Sloth Enjoys Carrots, Being Sloth - let us all aspire to this level of relaxation in our daily lives.
• Best News Bloopers 2013 - take 15 minutes and watch these flubs. I shouldn't enjoy it as much as I do but I love it.

Did you know that archive.org recently launched a new vault called The Console Living Room - a repository of vintage video games all playable directly on the web. They seem to have done some rather exhaustive compiling because it's not just Atari 2600 goods, they have Colecovision, Astrocade and The SG-1000 to name a few. So go play some BurgerTime or Adventure or Zaxxon!

I still have a great deal of catching up to do when it comes to all the "Best Of" lists of the previous year but I'm really enjoying this Best Alternative Movie Posters of 2013 from Badass Digest and Reelizer. Whittling down such a wealth of material is no easy task but I think their selections are solid and give some great insight into artists to keep your eye on for future goodies and possibly a bit of inspiration.

Hopefully you haven't already settled on your favorite calendar for 2014 because this 1975 Marvel Calendar could easily be your top choice. Fortunately, our calendar days repeat every 28 years and this vintage gem just happens to match up perfectly with our current map of days. The collages on the leftside are amazing (check out October!) but the actual calendar itself is pretty slick too.
