I'm two songs in and LOVING it.

It's Friday! This is possibly the final Friday Videos of the year and maybe the final yewknee post of 2013. Only time will tell. Here's your playlist. Enjoy!

• Beyonce: Grown Woman Teaser did you hear all the hub-bub about Beyonce releasing a new album, unannounced, on iTunes and that it comes with an accompanying "Visual" album? I'm not even a big Beyonce fan but all the media that accompanies this is really bonkers. This 30 second teaser is sure to blow your mind in some small way.
• Cat Attacks Woman - listen, I understand you don't want a stray cat attacking your little dog but if you harass an animal too much, you will have hell to pay. This is an amazing watch.
• Show Your Work! Book Trailer - Austin Kleon has a new book on the horizon, this is the trailer. Get excited.
• Bored Game - I posted this earlier in the week but it's too good not to make sure you saw it. Crank the nostalgia meter up as high as it will go.
• Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - the first trailer for the Planet of the Apes sequel looks great. I enjoyed the first one and am happy to see them continue the trend. This is likely all I will watch for this movie because I know I'm going to see it!
• Holiday Emergency (Christmas Vacation Remix) - how long as it been since you've had some autotune in your life? Probably too long. Enjoy this tribute to one of this seasons finest films.
• XTC - Thanks for Christmas - A Christmas song from one of the finer pop bands around.

I previously mentioned the iOS game PKPKT and am happy to report it's now fully available to download. Watch this intro video to get an idea of how it works - you and your friends have the app installed and "steal" from each other, ideally under each other's radar. So, if you're interested in using it, make sure your close friends get it as well - stealing is more fun the more people have it installed.

There is an inordinate amount of work to browse through in the portfolio and blog of street photographer Yanidel. That being said, this particular image from October 2010 really struck me... go dive through the pool of works and see what other gems you can find.

Really enjoying this seemingly narrative bit of watercolor works from Pauliina Hannuniemi. I mean, the final piece in the gallery shows a girl riding atop a gigantic house cat - what's not to love? Her Tumblog has a wealth of additional works as well.. well worth a follow.

It's that time of year! To be overwhelmed with Christmas music! Honestly, there's nothing wrong with embracing the spirit of Christmas and just letting yourself be immersed in it. Fill the next six days with this goodness:

• Williams Family Xmas Mix - every year the Williams Family puts out a Christmas mix and every year it's an enjoyable romp. This year persists that mentality!
• O Christmas Twee - when Lance makes a mix, you should always snag it. Always.
• The Hap Hap Happiest Christmas Playlist - lots of traditional Christmas goodness in this Rdio playlist from Paul Armstrong.

Last night I had the pleasure of watching It Came From Detroit, a documentary profiling the Detroit music scene as it existed in the late 80's through early 2000's. Basically, what existed pre-White Stripes and what happened during their rise to fame but told tangentially, not from the perspective of Jack or Meg White. Bands like The Hentchmen, The Dirtbombs / The Gories, Blanche and a ton more paved the way.

Hearing about any music scene is fascinating but I found this one particularly intriguing because of the parallels I felt it had with Nashville (and, prior to that, Murfreesboro anticipatory explosion). I am sure the same could be said of any non-first-tier community.

It's a great watch and I think anyone that's interested in the story of communities would love it.

If you haven't been keeping up, take a moment to read the latest issue of Birth Movies Death. The content is always solid but I particularly enjoy the essays on It's A Wonderful Life and "Superman: Christ Figure or Ultimate Immigrant?" Real thought provoking movie stuff!

Also, read that blog. So good.

I'm not sure it's the definitive list but I'm enjoying this Best Movie Posters of 2013 gallery. Mostly for the new additions to my noggin like this one for Sightseers or this piece from Sam Smith for Post Tenebras Lux. Some very inspiring stuff.

I love a "Photo Year In Review" collection so I was definitely engaged by this Reuters Photos of the Year 2013 gallery. That being said, many of these images are on the NSFW side and a little harsh on the soul - lots of incredibly intense scenarios. So, it's not for the faint of heart but it is a nice reminder that a whole lot happens during our trip around the sun. That being said, didn't this happen in 2012?

I had no idea that Matthew Barney had anything new in the pipe but, apparently, River of Fundament is rolling right along and will be premiering in February 2014. Obviously I know next to nothing about it beyond this page of information but it's just enough.. I already know I'm going to see it, now I can be excited for it.

If ever there were a video meant for a Friday Video collection, it would be this but Bored Game is too great to sit on for any amount of time. The fake board game commercial is executed with nostalgic 80's precision! From the onslaught of toys from that time to the oddly creepy wizard host, it's firing on all cylinders.

I recently effusively praised the latest release from Roman Candle and feel compelled to do the same again here. That being said, I am hesitant to praise something too heavily for fear that expectations will alter your ability to go in without judgement.

Very pleased to see this new limited edition zine from Will Bryant, Drawings Based on Sculptures Based on Drawings. The contents are, as it says on the label, drawings based on sculptures based on drawings and they are delightful. The real question is, when can I buy a zine of just those lovely Will Bryant patterns?
