It's pretty phenomenal that an Instagram profile can easily double as a solid, continuously updated, portfolio of works - complete with followers, likes and comments. Such is the case with Manon Wethly - a photographer with a penchant for flying paint, bokeh and shamed cats. She's got a blog as well with even more material but the Instagram convenience factor is sure to win out if you're looking to keep up with her new creations.

I may have mentioned the band NORM before and included some music on We Own This Town podcasts but it's worth pointing out that there's now a full-length self-titled album now available. It's probably selling it a bit short to call it Melancholy Pop but it's the immediate, accessible, description that comes to mind. A good portion of the album is upbeat with an underlying sad bite to it. Start with On To You and then dive further in.

I'm really happy to announce that Ecstasy of Order: The Tetris Masters is now available for order and Powered By VHX. It's great that it's on the VHX platform but, regardless, it's a fun movie for anyone that enjoyed the likes of Indie Game: The Movie, Minecraft: The Story of Mojang. It's a documentary about a group of dedicated players trying to win the title of Tetris Master. It might be nerdy but, at its core, it's got heart. Seeing anyone struggle for a prize is worth watching and the tale of Thor (real name) is worth investing your time in.

Thanks to Mr. Roger Tinch I've spent a good chunk of time browsing the depths of this Rejected Movie Poster Archive. Well, maybe rejected is too harsh a word but it's more catchy than "early iterations" or "innovative concepts." The archive has a ton of stuff - from cult classics to big studio pieces. It's an incredibly compelling browse.

I'm still immersing myself in all that he has available but I'm loving the works of Ben Pieratt. The more recent entries have a really excellent boldness and simplicity to them - but still full of personality. He's also got a great blog and an impressive work history (Svpply, Varsity Bookmarking and Girlfriend among them). I feel like a dummy for just now sharing this stuff with everyone - it's well worth being familiar with.

I dunno what it is about them but I'm enamored with these Hybrid Creature Sculptures from Ellen Jewett. Browse through this summary or dive deep into the full portfolios. There's a great balance of fantasy, steam punk, the grotesque and something else going on that I really enjoy.

Mondays, amirite?! Get a boost of good feelings via Pleah - a tumblog of animals sticking their tongues out. Is it questionable that some of these animals are drugged? Maybe. Is it mostly adorable despite that? You betcha. I think we can all agree it's a PEVZ.

I'm not going to lie folks, this is not my strongest week. Despite that, I think there are rather enjoyable gems in the playlist. Hopefully you agree.

• W-E-T P-E-T-S - apparently this ad for Wet Pets has been around for awhile (2006) but it's totally new to me. And it's a real treat.
• Daft Punk - "Get Lucky" Shredded Version - make no doubt about it, you will get sick of that new Daft Punk song. When you do, just remember this quality version of it.
• Louis CK - What you get with a basic life - there's some NSFW language here but I think this is the core of Louis CK. He's incredibly curmudgeonly and self-deprecating but occasionally comes with these gems of outstanding positivity; you can't help but love it.
• ZooBooks - I've been working on a playlist of NEVER FORGET videos and Paige reminded me that this must be included. Still funny. Never forget.
• Joe Biden - Return of the Mack - can you endure 3:45 of this? Yes. Yes, you can. You will love every second of it. via Paul
• volscp - this will probably be appealing to .001% of readers but Boards of Canada release a new record on Record Store Day. A single record. One. Then it became known that there were six variations of that record - all leading to pretty engaging bit of sleuthing to discover new music from album. volscp is part of the puzzle. I won't pretend to know the whole scenario but you can keep up with the madness here.

I posted this in the sidebar but I don't think that does it justice. These bootleg posters from Ghana are a real treat. And I don't mean that in the spirit of the original article - I don't think it's right to laugh at them (okay, that Alien one is pretty weird) but rather appreciate them for their creativity and Outsider Art style. It's the first step towards achieving this kind of greatness.

Scott Page has a collection of images he's created with a 3D Laser Scanner - a device that creates a photorealistic 3D recreation of a space. I won't act like I entirely understand the recording process but, at a rudimentary level, it's combining panorama style digital camera images and 3D point data for a particular space. Repeated enough times throughout an area, you can make a pretty impressive mapping of a place.

How is this helpful? Well, as this article points out, it can create incredibly useful data for historical spaces to be renovated instead of destroyed. Please Browse this gallery to see the results. The images are like ghostly x-rays of spaces but presented almost like a videogame map. It's bizarre and incredibly fascinating.

The stubborn survival (and even modest revival) of vinyl suggests there's a segment of music fans who still prefer the pleasures of traditional ownership over the portability and practicality of digital music. I've been a fan of Justin Ouellette since the start of Muxtape so it's no surprise that this Varsity Bookmarking interview is interesting to me. The great twist is that Varsity Bookmark interviews receive all answers as hyperlinks - so you get a sense of the person through visual responses and other various internet destinations. It's kitschy but it totally works. Love the format and his responses.

In a strange bit of promotion for the new show Maron, IFC and Funny Or Die have put together five mini-episodes of Maron in Space starring James Adomian. It makes zero sense if you're not familiar with the Marc Maron personality (or Star Trek) but, assuming you are, it's hilariously spot on. Especially the later episodes. Just go watch it.

As it is a Maron parody, there's plenty of NSFW language. You've been warned.

As Chad put it, NYCHOS is an InstaFollow. Immediately upon seeing his extruded dissections illustrations I knew I'd want more coming my way for the foreseeable future. I love that the work finds the perfect balance between adorable and gruesome.

NYCHOS also runs an art space called RabbitEyeMovement that features a number of other incredible artists.

At some point last year I downloaded the Dog Ear Days EP from Brooklyn's Bambara. It's not often that I hear high energy, slightly dissonant rock so it always hit the spot when it came on. Now they're releasing their full-length, Dreamviolence, and it's already streaming in its entirety right over here. I'm not saying it's for everybody but if you find yourself missing a bit of Rock in your life, it's a great source of fulfillment.
