Once upon a time, while perusing the crevices of a crusty New York mom-n'-pop video store, legendary VHS collector Matt Desiderio stumbled upon an extraordinary treasure – a human-sized anthropomorphic home video mascot, known forevermore as Tape Man. https://t.co/rcR6nt7KpB

This undead Benghazi t-shirt catalogue model nailing the dismount so impeccably on something that en masse is so hallucinatory, cringeworthy, infuriating and comically sublime, has to be commended. Additionally, kudos on recouping those Trump campaign donations so quickly, Mark. https://t.co/OOhGydM4WG
Last week, yk records released the debut from Spencer Cullum's Coin Collection and this week I'm happy to announce the release of the second full-length LP from Tower Defense, In The City. Vibe wise the two records could not be more different but I'm hopeful that's a good thing.
The band makes absolutely bombastic rock n' roll with their double bass configuration but it's absolutely laden with harmonies and, on the second record especially, there's a ton of fun injected into the songs. I'm biased but it's absolutely delightful.
TD LP 2 is out today! We are so appreciative of the amazing contributions from @battletapes @audiosiege @bansmythe and especially for the continued support of @yewknee and @records_yk!
Get your hands &/or your ears on it wherever loud sounds are served!

Hey @TowerDefenseTN & @yewknee I just got “In The City” in the mail and it is beautiful. So pumped about this record!
All the rest of y’all should go get it too. https://t.co/eLZb986Zsy
Today, The Mute Group released the video for "Rodney O." That fact by itself may not mean much but it's the final video in promotion of their debut album, Sinister Hand. As far back as 2016, they've been crafting videos to help promote their music and "Rodney O" serves as a pinnacle of accomplishment from those four years.
I know I'm biased in my enjoyment of a band that I'm actively helping release music but that bias doesn't overshadow the fact that I'm completely blown away by the video. It instantly reminds me of Aldous Harding, tho the band had no prior knowledge of her work before embarking on this video. I can see comparisons to REM as well but that feels too lofty for folks to take seriously, even if it's apt.
It's a stunning piece of work. It's mysterious, immersive and captivating. It tells a story without really laying it all out for you. Flat out, I'd call it Art. Hard stop. Again, that's lofty but I stand by it.
