• Christopher G. Brown's Teletubbies Joy Division Edit - I ran across this late last week so it's probably old news to everyone but high-contrast, black-and-white Teletubbies set to Joy Division is awesomely scary.
• AAA Teen Driving Distractions - do you have a child? Watch this and really bathe in the fear that one day this could be your kid. I've never seen a more effective campaign against texting and driving - this is it.
• Viner baby dance loubia bled - this little dude is the BEST. via Becky.
• Amazing Dancing Guy during Music Festival - pretty generic title but stick with it.. this dude has some serious moves. My favorite is what I call "Tiny Feet".
• Drunk guy sings 'Bohemian Rhapsody' inside police car - you'd think this would be a sloppy clip of a drunk guy singing a part of the Queen classic but, nope, it's the entire song and it's actually pretty accurate. The man is a fan.
• Raiders of the Lost Archives - apparently lots of the Lucas classic pairs up extremely well with several old adventure films and an old Scrooge McDuck comic. I had no idea. via Austin.
• Cocktails & Dreams - Mike Upchurch took the Tom Cruise movie Cocktail, re-edited it as a sitcom and inserted new actors all over the place. It's actually brilliant (albeit a bit long) and I'd actually love to see this sort of thing become more of a reality. It's awkward but it works.
• The Musical Chair - this is Art, right? Why am I drawn to this? I can't explain it but I watched the whole thing.

• Wilderness Promo One - I will continue to talk about this new Makeup and Vanity Set record, Wilderness, and the short film, Eidolon, it accompanies. Listen to Hand in Hand for a taste of what's to come.
• Fritz Learns to Catch Compilation #1 - I was crying laughing while watching this. This poor dog has a heart of gold.
• Puppy vs. Orange - at some point I found myself immersed in the world of Maymo and Penny, two adorable dogs having their antics posted to Youtube. I suggest you dive all the way in.
• Subconscious Cinema - great compilation of dreams from a variety of movies. Be warned.. it does contain some graphic imagery. The clip from 'Un Chien Andalou' at 35seconds will haunt you. The rest is great.
• Made By: Chris Coyier - I've been a huge fan of CSS Tricks for a long time and it's nice to hear this interview with Mr. Coyier. Seems like an incredibly awesome dude.
• Album Covers Come Alive - this falls on the side of absurd and ridiculous but it's mostly impressive for it's sheer length. It's insane how much work was put into this!
• TIE Fighter - I don't geek out on Star Wars fan creations that much but the artistic style of this short film is something I, personally, rarely see these days.
• Darkel - L, 2014 - I don't know if you are familiar with Darkel, aka Jean-Benoit Dunckel, aka half of AIR - but I had forgotten about this project and was quite pleased to see this crazy long datamosh video pop up with his work (and a new EP).

I've returned from Austin! It was 80 degrees and a wonderfully good time with the best of friends. Quite frankly, I didn't even see that much but I've been going for 10 years, so I don't feel like I missed much either.

• Lenny Kravitz - Fly Away - stick with it. Every second that passes gets better and better.
• The Girl on Channel Three - more from Two Old Men, easily my favorite thing of 2015.
• Skip Skip Slide - is this some sort of Viral Marketing? Maybe. Do I care? Not really. It's just the right amount of incredibly awkward and endearing. See also, Summertime is Great.
• beetlejuice - a mild endurance challenge that delights the more you endure.
• ARIEL NEEDS LEGS motion comic - super weird and maybe not even funny out of context but I loved it when I saw it.
• Rons Ani-Demo 002 - I have no idea what this is but when Davis sent it my way, I was entranced.
• Bill Murray-achi - and, once again, Bill Murray confirms he is the greatest.

• The new Å KODA Fabia Attention Test - you will probably pass the test but it's a clever little trick they deploy to distract you.
• Cat attacks a turtle - the sheer fury here is impressive.
• Entertainment - Two Old Men talk about Entertainment. My favorite yet.
• Health Scare - Two Old Men talk Health Scare. If you missed my expressed love for this series, go to it.
• Christmas - Two Old Men talk Christmas.
• Shake It Little Tina - Low Cut Connie - you get the gist of this pretty quickly but then you can't look away from the sheer volume of different locations.

I should absolutely save this for Friday Videos but I'm loving it way too much to keep it to myself for any longer. The premise is simple - two old men sitting around chatting about whatever nonsense. The execution may take a certain someone to really get it tho. Those of us that grew up in the South or went to Church regularly mostly definitely encountered individuals like this. It is, for me, hysterically perfect. So far there are only two episodes but I have the highest of hopes for more.

• Health Scare - two old men chat about a recent health scare.

• AyaBambi x Lumine - I could begin to explain what's happening in this video but you're better off just taking it in at face value and then investigating more on your own.
• SmartEyeglass Developer Edition SED-E1 - I realize this is a Developer's edition but if AR glasses are going to look this dumb, they're never going to take off. This video is so awkward it's hard to take seriously.
• Pac Man Wakka Wakka Sound For 12 Hours - I dare you to try and listen to this for an excess of five minutes.

This week was kind of huge - I'll share the news starting next week once the loose ends are all tied up but I had a helluva good time working with a great new client. Always nice when work is as satisfying as can be. Enjoy these distractions:

• Oh my god I love chipotle. - this kid has the brightest of futures.
• "FYI I'M A GRAPHIC DESIGNER" - next to "Hacker", being a Graphic Designer is one of the most awkward jobs to portray in film and tv. Here's the evidence.
• Red Pandas are Having Snow Much Fun - Cincinnati Zoo - this is a week old but watching it fills me with joy every time. The wild abandon!
• Shrek's Dank Kush - Thank you Paige for the continued delivery of some of the Internet's finest weirdness.
• Joywave "Somebody New" - good band, good song and a music video combining the worst videogame skate physics leads to loads of entertainment.
• Meet Tomatan, a wearable robot that feeds you tomatoes as you run - this is the TRUE gem this week. The absurdity here is absolutely perfect and it doesn't hurt that the robot is adorable.
• 40 SNL's - Kyle Mooney doing what he does best.
• Dan Klein: "This is Comedy" Standup Special - this hour long act is truly an endurance challenge. Yes, it's knowingly making fun of bad comics but it's still an hour long. He really did it and you're a real trooper if you manage to make it through.

I'm not fully convinced my experiment was a successful one. I actually missed seeking out things to write about and posting about them - even if my pessimistic self doesn't think my writeups are really worth your time. I gotta do me for me, ya know?

• Man keeps falling over while shoveling snow - I saw this in gif form yesterday and absolutely lost it. Is it fake? I choose not to wonder and embrace the insanity of it. Please watch at least 10x.
• Sleater-Kinney - A New Wave - I don't have a terribly strong opinion about the song but I love seeing a good crossover between pop culture items, especially when it involves Bob's Burgers.
• A Dog's Snow Day - strap a GoPro to a little pup and let them frolick in the snow. Imagine this when you've got your VR glasses strapped to your head.
• Chmielewski Fun Time! - There's something strangely alluring about this dance. She isn't going bonkers but she is into it.
• Freaks and Geeks - Uptown Funk - it doesn't sync up very well at all but Bill's dance is always worth a rewatch.
• Garth Brooks First Facebook Post - the earnestness of this is way too much. God bless ya Garth but settle down!
• Natalie Prass - Why Don't You Believe In Me - really enjoying this record and the simplicity and effectiveness of this video is spot on.
• The Golden Egg - Short - a man by the name of Dave Cloud passed away this week. He was a Nashville gem - a strange character with a penchant for the audacious. He lived hard but made some truly excellent music. This short film showcases his personality pretty well - hard to understand and absolutely hilarious if you really get it.

If you still need more entertainment I dare you to watch this without skipping. No way you can do it.

• This American Life Videos 4 U: I Love You - a heartwarming tale about a couple with a mild communication problem.
• Dr Phil with no dialogue, just reactions... - a bit of an endurance challenge but also maybe the best episode of Dr. Phil out there.
• The One Ring Explained. - As nerdy as it gets: an actual backstory to The Ring explained in no time flat. Not for everyone but more interesting than the last three Hobbit movies.
• Jasmin Kaset - Lionshare - if you haven't heard Quiet Machine yet, please remedy that now
• Wang Rong Rollin - Chick Chick - I dunno what it is but I can't look away. The longer it goes, the more bizarre it gets.
• Breaking The Fifth Wall - not for the epileptic out there but a nice art piece from Yovcho Gorchev.
• JCB Tractor Dancing - J C Balls - a video of a bunch of people watch tractors "dance" is taxing but a video of a bunch of British people watching tractors dance is oddly fascinating.

What a week! A company retreat, a birthday (mine) and the realization that Face/Off is back for another season really made for a good one. Hope yours went as well as my own.

• The Devil's Delorean - an excellent 5-second short film sent over by the Grammy nominated John Baldwin.
• SIMPSONS PIXELS - yea, I posted about this earlier in the week but you need to see it, particularly the couch gag.
• Old School v New School Rap - I wasn't convinced on the goodness of sketch show Cardinal Burns but this clip may have converted me.
• Microsoft HoloLens - I'll admit it, the WIRED cover story on Satya Nadella and I'm actually quite curious about the forthcoming HoloLens project now. The first few versions are bound to be a bit awkward but there's a good bit of promise there.
• O.T. Genasis - CoCo - complete and total rap absurdity.
• Jimmy Fallon Went to Bayside High with "Saved By The Bell" Cast - this ranks extremely high on the Nostaliga Reaping meter but it works, surprisingly well.
• Computers in our Lives - not a satire or a joke, just an actual educational film from 1980 with some nice reminders of what we used to work with.
• Wandering Eye at The Stone Fox - I was anti-tribute band for a long time but recently I've come to appreciate their place. This Ween tribute outfit does a damn fine job. Full show.

• Frankie and Johnny's Furniture: See the Special Man - this old commercial doesn't really take off for a full 30 seconds so stick with it and keep sticking with it. The payoff is worth it. There's even a decent parody. via Jeremy.
• Lars Andersen: a new level of archery
• The supermarket cow dance - this one came in via Lee last week under the wire but it has serious staying power. I've watched it no less than 10 times this week.
• The Bad Sleep Well (1960) - The Geometry of a Scene - not funny or ridiculous, just another fine creation from Tony Zhou.
• Clever little raccoon walking across some phone wires - the actual animal antics here are good but the narration.. pure gold. via Becky.
• Cat attacks singing card. - pretty sure I've seen this before but the ferocity still gets me.

I really need to start making these lists even weirder. I mean, you've probably seen all these top hitters already, right? I should start deep digging and just make this a bizarre compilation. We'll see if I can manage that. In the meantime, here's some distracting entertainment:

• Motocross Kid Prep - I wish something in my life made me feel this pumped up.
• "NFL 2015" - Bad Lip Reading - don't let the sports angle deter you, this is funny absurdity for all to enjoy. Still manages to be hilarious.
• Catastrophe: Channel 4 - a new series on Channel 4 started airing this week written by and starring Rob Delaney and Sharon Horgan. It's only aired one episode but I'm into it. Seek it out.
• Hippo Charge on Chobe River - I've often heard that hippo's are actually quite aggressive but it's pretty wild to see it in action.
• Lads Night Out - an excellent bit of British sketch comedy. The protaganists skirt that Ricky Gervais-esque line of being idiotic, annoying and pitiful through their excessive bravado. It's a great mix.
• Taylor Swift - 1988 National Aerobic Championship Opening - I don't care if this has been seen a million+ times, it's a great edit to a continuously infectious song.

I tried but failed to find this on Youtube. It's really the cream of the crop this week.

The list is short this week but, hopefully, no less amusing. In fact, if you dive a little deeper into the first offering, I think you'll find your day sufficiently filled with distraction.

• Raccoon thug - If you are unfamiliar with the term Unexpected Thug Life, prepare to do some deep diving. Enjoy this Vine account, this Subreddit or just some excellent compilations.
• Thug Life Magic - no, seriously. You gotta get into this. When there's a gem, it's real good.
• Ideas Are Scary - this GE commercial is weirding me out. I get that's the point but those first few shots of the baby idea are creeeeepy.
• Tiny Queenstown - been awhile since I've watched a relaxing tilt-shifted timelapse video, so I thought I'd indulge in this New Zealand beauty.
• Black Rivers - The Forest - I'm not overwhelmed by the new Doves project Black Rivers yet but so far all the offerings have been solid. This is yet another one.
• 7 Things You (Probably) Didn't Know About The Big Lebowski - I'm a fan of trivia style fact morsels, this youtube account continues to have them in spades (without being overtly annoying like many of its ilk).

• Terrifying bus crash in New Mexico - Terrifying is absolutely the right word. So glad this guy is okay. I can't believe people still don't wear seatbelts.
• Frisbee Giant - Malcolm Sutherland has always been a favorite and it's especially nice to see him branch out in some new directions. It's weird but in the best way.
• Last Man on Earth - two great things from this long preview. One, I had no idea Will Forte was given his own show, GREAT. Two, I wasn't overly familiar with the work of Ennio Morricone and I'm fully immersing myself now.
• Aaron Draplin Takes On a Logo Design Challenge - in case you missed this over the break, please watch Draplin as he goes through his design process and quickly comes up with some worthwhile choices.
• Face Hacking / Real-Time Face Tracking - in the future, we will be able to mask our faces with 3D projections. In the future, everything is terrifying.
• Excited puppy spots its owner - do a little dance!
• Cat Loves Olives - It's all there in the title.
• Funky Creative Prodikeys Demonstration - starts slow but stick with it. Once he gets past the introduction he really starts humming along. Love those quick cuts!
• Audio Effects from Hannah Barbera cartoons - Endurance challenge. How much of this can you sit through in one sitting? I think I made it 20 seconds. via Paul

• WLC! PHON - what happens when you take WHAM's hit "Last Christmas" and slow it down 8x? You get an ambient dream. It works surprisingly well.
• "Little Superstar" - not very Christmas-y but this video is never a let down. NEVER.

• Girl Dancing To Pump Up the Jam - caught this on Facebook and lost it. It's an excellent ebb and flow of intensity. I need to take a few of these moves with me.
• The Intense Dancing Child - this is the most perfect look of intensity for anyone to have while dancing but this kid nails it best.
• Captain Picard sings "Let it Snow!" - a Christmas classic!
• PizzaVideo.Biz Trailer - If you find the idea of pizza footage in space set to relaxing music an alluring notion, this is perfect.
• Wanderers - absolutely stunning piece of work depicting space exploration. Words don't sell it very well.. just watch it.
• Heavenly Bodies Trailer - in the Stephen Merchant episode of the Jeff Garlin podcast, Merchant mentions a time in the 80's when movies were absolute nonsense. They had to be made by aliens trying to emulate what they assumed our cultures were about. This is one of those movies.
• A Group Of Sheep Respond In Unison When A Man Speaks - the title sells it well.
• Starstruck - a full length TV pilot from 1979 featuring a lot of British robots, amazing green screen ships and more sci-fi tropes than you can shake a stick at. It's baffling in all the good ways/

Not gonna lie, this is not my strongest offering of videos. I've been playing catch up all week from Thanksgiving neglect and that hasn't allowed a lot of time to browse around. I haven't even read the AV Club once! That's unbelievable. Despite that disclaimer, please enjoy:

• Cat Gets Caught Stealing From A Drawer - the look of shame is not just because of his breed. I have seen this face before.
• Nahnee Bori "Happy Plant" - in case you missed it, Nahnee Bori released a new album this week - Mr Man and this is a b-side video from the album. It's a great listen. A bit different but still undeniably great.
• Jackie Chan - How to Do Action Comedy - I haven't had a moment to watch all of this yet but Every Frame a Painting has yet to let me down.
• Kids play with paint a get it all over their faces - this is a bit slow but hearing a miffed Dad lose his cool b/c his kids are so ridiculous is well worth a scrub through. Also, those faces.
• Pallas Cat Kittens - 5 weeks old - how have I never looked up Pallas Cat kittens before? Better late than never.
• Ghost Ridin' Grandma - this is exactly what you'd expect. A little awkward, not as funny as you'd hope but it's perfect fodder for your family gatherings coming in the next few weeks. Keep it in your back pocket.

• Red: A Kubrick Supercut - I enjoy just about any Kubrick supercut but one themed around Kubrick's use of color is just that much more enjoyable.
• The Last Starfighter Modern Trailer - a recut of the 80's classic trailer. Who wants to start taking bets how long it will be until this remake is actually put into production?
• Jerry Reed - Lightning Rod 1977 - been playing this song quite a bit this week. The studio version is a bit different but no less impressive.
• POULICROC - spotted this on the Vimeo Staffpicks.. I can not even begin to explain why I enjoy it but I absolutely do.

• Star Trek Pizza Pool Party - an undeniable combination. The presentation is odd to say the least but who doesn't love these two things?
• Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Salmon Cannon (HBO)
• Fortin' with Will - I've grown a little tired of this aesthetic and approach to humor but I have not grown tired of Will Forte, in the slightest.
• Everytime I visit this owl it gives me this face - there's a parody of this already but I'm more prone to the original, just a delighted owl. That's all.

• Player Hater - loved this little death animation. All my favorite things.
• Infomercials - Too Many Cooks - this is eleven minutes long. That's an incredibly long time for an Internet video but it gives this absolutely absurd video a long time to go some quite insane places. It only gets weirder and darker as it goes.
• What News Anchors Do During Commercial Breaks - this is a helluva handclap choreography. How many times do you think they've done this?
• Klaus Nomi - Lightning Strikes - My friend John went as Klaus Nomi for Halloween and I've been diving into his catalog of works ever since. What a fascinating character.
• Shooby Taylor - Stout-Hearted Men - new life goal, memorize this and everything else in Shooby Taylor's catalog.
• CHAPPIE Movie Trailer - I'll be real, I didn't love the last Blomkamp movie but seeing this Chappie trailer gives me hope that he'll continue to live up to my highest expectations.
• AMBITION - this is a full-on sci-fi trailer for an actual space mission. I could get used to this sort of PSA.
• My cousin Oskaar - you know how annoying Daylight savings is to people who live in Iceland? You will after seeing this.
• Boom Boom Boom Way Ho - I am sure I have seen this and I am sure this has made the rounds in your office email pool before but it's absolutely worth a rewatch. I predict you will be singing it all day today.
