This week was kind of huge - I'll share the news starting next week once the loose ends are all tied up but I had a helluva good time working with a great new client. Always nice when work is as satisfying as can be. Enjoy these distractions:

I'm not fully convinced my experiment was a successful one. I actually missed seeking out things to write about and posting about them - even if my pessimistic self doesn't think my writeups are really worth your time. I gotta do me for me, ya know?

Anyway, here's a playlist of distracting and amusing greatness. As usual, enjoy yourself.
  • Man keeps falling over while shoveling snow - I saw this in gif form yesterday and absolutely lost it. Is it fake? I choose not to wonder and embrace the insanity of it. Please watch at least 10x.
  • Sleater-Kinney - A New Wave - I don't have a terribly strong opinion about the song but I love seeing a good crossover between pop culture items, especially when it involves Bob's Burgers.
  • A Dog's Snow Day - strap a GoPro to a little pup and let them frolick in the snow. Imagine this when you've got your VR glasses strapped to your head.
  • Chmielewski Fun Time! - There's something strangely alluring about this dance. She isn't going bonkers but she is into it.
  • Freaks and Geeks - Uptown Funk - it doesn't sync up very well at all but Bill's dance is always worth a rewatch.
  • Garth Brooks First Facebook Post - the earnestness of this is way too much. God bless ya Garth but settle down!
  • Natalie Prass - Why Don't You Believe In Me - really enjoying this record and the simplicity and effectiveness of this video is spot on.
  • The Golden Egg - Short - a man by the name of Dave Cloud passed away this week. He was a Nashville gem - a strange character with a penchant for the audacious. He lived hard but made some truly excellent music. This short film showcases his personality pretty well - hard to understand and absolutely hilarious if you really get it.
If you still need more entertainment I dare you to watch this without skipping. No way you can do it.

Have a great weekend. Stay warm.

Quite a week this week. I hope you are all doing well and have a moment to spend time with loved ones this weekend, even if its not romantic. Plenty of good on the horizon. Enjoy these distractions: Have a good one.

What a week! A company retreat, a birthday (mine) and the realization that Face/Off is back for another season really made for a good one. Hope yours went as well as my own. Hope you're having a wonderful week and gearing up for the weekend of your lifetime.

Are you glad it's the weekend? I'm glad it's the weekend. Let's celebrate our joy by finding ways to distract ourselves for the next 72 hours. Hopefully this playlist helps in that quest: Have a great weekend! If you haven't seen this ClickHole presentation of This Will Change The Way You Watch 'Fight Club' - get on it. Absolutely hilarious, NSFW and the perfect parody.

I really need to start making these lists even weirder. I mean, you've probably seen all these top hitters already, right? I should start deep digging and just make this a bizarre compilation. We'll see if I can manage that. In the meantime, here's some distracting entertainment: I tried but failed to find this on Youtube. It's really the cream of the crop this week.

The list is short this week but, hopefully, no less amusing. In fact, if you dive a little deeper into the first offering, I think you'll find your day sufficiently filled with distraction.
  • Raccoon thug - If you are unfamiliar with the term Unexpected Thug Life, prepare to do some deep diving. Enjoy this Vine account, this Subreddit or just some excellent compilations.
  • Thug Life Magic - no, seriously. You gotta get into this. When there's a gem, it's real good.
  • Ideas Are Scary - this GE commercial is weirding me out. I get that's the point but those first few shots of the baby idea are creeeeepy.
  • Tiny Queenstown - been awhile since I've watched a relaxing tilt-shifted timelapse video, so I thought I'd indulge in this New Zealand beauty.
  • Black Rivers - The Forest - I'm not overwhelmed by the new Doves project Black Rivers yet but so far all the offerings have been solid. This is yet another one.
  • 7 Things You (Probably) Didn't Know About The Big Lebowski - I'm a fan of trivia style fact morsels, this youtube account continues to have them in spades (without being overtly annoying like many of its ilk).
Let me know your favorite UTL video.. there are so many to enjoy.

It's almost Christmas and it's nice to have things winding down. Personally, I'm looking forward to a little R&R over the next few weeks to catch up on some personal projects and plan for 2015. While you frantically finish your Christmas shopping this weekend, enjoy these videos! Need more? Listen to this beautiful chorus of crickets or the yearly Sam Smith Cinema Sound compilation. There's no shortage of greatness out there - go and embrace it!

Greetings! As far as I can tell, the above image is from Robocup - a robot soccer tournament. I just can't bring myself to look up videos of it, as that gif is just too perfect.

Was a good week! Lots got accomplished and I'm looking forward to ending the year on a high note. Be sure to check these VHX Gift Guides for some great insight on things to watch for yourself or something nice to give to a friend.

Enjoy your videos!

Have a great weekend!

Not gonna lie, this is not my strongest offering of videos. I've been playing catch up all week from Thanksgiving neglect and that hasn't allowed a lot of time to browse around. I haven't even read the AV Club once! That's unbelievable. Despite that disclaimer, please enjoy: That's it! Have a great weekend. If you haven't watched High Maintenance yet, do yourself a favor over the weekend and get to it.

Listen, I know there's a playlist of videos here that is just begging for your enjoyment and distraction but have you been paying attention to the changes over at Giphy? They launched Giphy TV and now I'll basically never get anything done ever again. But I digress... Don't forget to watch that Mount Sharp video and have a damn fine weekend.

Did you know Bob's Burgers has returned to airing new episodes? Hopefully you did, it's such a fine show. Anyway, here's a bunch of distracting videos to help you get through your day. You deserve it, you worked hard for it.
  • Player Hater - loved this little death animation. All my favorite things.
  • Infomercials - Too Many Cooks - this is eleven minutes long. That's an incredibly long time for an Internet video but it gives this absolutely absurd video a long time to go some quite insane places. It only gets weirder and darker as it goes.
  • What News Anchors Do During Commercial Breaks - this is a helluva handclap choreography. How many times do you think they've done this?
  • Klaus Nomi - Lightning Strikes - My friend John went as Klaus Nomi for Halloween and I've been diving into his catalog of works ever since. What a fascinating character.
  • Shooby Taylor - Stout-Hearted Men - new life goal, memorize this and everything else in Shooby Taylor's catalog.
  • CHAPPIE Movie Trailer - I'll be real, I didn't love the last Blomkamp movie but seeing this Chappie trailer gives me hope that he'll continue to live up to my highest expectations.
  • AMBITION - this is a full-on sci-fi trailer for an actual space mission. I could get used to this sort of PSA.
  • My cousin Oskaar - you know how annoying Daylight savings is to people who live in Iceland? You will after seeing this.
  • Boom Boom Boom Way Ho - I am sure I have seen this and I am sure this has made the rounds in your office email pool before but it's absolutely worth a rewatch. I predict you will be singing it all day today.
I've also got Bee & PuppyCat on my queue for the weekend.

Can I have a boilerplate for these Friday videos? Like "Another week, another dose of friendly distraction." Something catchy that really brands my Friday video contributions to your day being less productive but also more enjoyable. Just kidding, that's a terrible idea.
  • Rob Cantor - "Shia LaBeouf" Live - Rob Cantor has made some amusing videos in the past but nothing that comes close to being this epic in scale and perfection.
  • Shaboi - Curse Rock Pumpkin Dance - there is no limit to the number of times I can listen to Shaboi's Curse Walk album and, equally, no limit to the amount of time I can spend watching the Pumpkin Dance. Together, these things make for a truly wonderful combination. Thanks again to Paul for this.
  • Wunder Wunder - Hail the Madmen - I've somehow never seen this video before and it is absolute perfect chaos. Love it.
  • John Oliver: Supreme Court - if you haven't seen this greatness from Last Week Tonight featuring the best new way to display Supreme Court hearings, do yourself a favor right now.
  • Ko Tama Cat - I don't know what's going on with this cat but all of these clips are mind boggling. Why does it behave this way? Was a training regime involved? Is it prone to be this awesome naturally? Both?
  • Clingy pandas don’t want to take their medicine - I am sure being a Panda wrangler is not an easy job - particularly when administering medicine - but this is out of control cute. It's a Panda Pile and I approve.
  • NASA Space Sounds - this isn't exactly compelling to watch but NASA recently released these sounds recorded from space - all within the human range of hearing - and they're perfect. It's exactly what you hope and imagine space sounds like. It's also amazingly soothing.
There's plenty more weirdness to see on the Internet but hopefully that will satisfy you for the moment. Have a great weekend.

Here's a, hopefully, amusing list of videos to watch. Need more? Watch the official Empire Uncut trailer - which I believe debuts in full on StarWars.com very soon.

I write this from the past to post in the future so that it is available during your present - right now. The offerings are short this week from being out of town and being hunkered down with work but I think you will rather enjoy what you find within. Need more? Watch this Crazy David Bowie SNL performance or any of these new Broad City Season 2 Bonus Episodes or just gaze into this greatness. You're all set.

Have a wonderful weekend.
