This week has been bonkers! Lots of projects wrapping up or launching or making some serious headway. It's rather exciting. To celebrate, I'm off to Brooklyn Beta. If you see me, come say hi. Here's a, hopefully, amusing list of videos to watch. Need more? Watch the official Empire Uncut trailer - which I believe debuts in full on StarWars.com very soon.

Have a great weekend! Go watch these movies - you will enjoy it.

I write this from the past to post in the future so that it is available during your present - right now. The offerings are short this week from being out of town and being hunkered down with work but I think you will rather enjoy what you find within. Need more? Watch this Crazy David Bowie SNL performance or any of these new Broad City Season 2 Bonus Episodes or just gaze into this greatness. You're all set.

Have a wonderful weekend.

I'm headed into a weekend of travel and celebration with friends at the wedding of one my best friends. I can't wait to celebrate such a great occasion in his life.

But enough personal celebrations, here's your playlist! Need more? Enjoy this lovable oaf, this terrifying view or this bit of insight into a classic. Oh, and don't miss this gem.

Have a great weekend.

According to this tweet we're heavily into Fall weather here in NYC. The city seems to have abandoned Summer at the drop of a hat and it's full force Fall now. So that's the weather report here in New York City. Here's some videos. If you need more - check out this doggie or google "The Beautiful Pizza" just for fun.

Have a great weekend.

Have you seen the redesigned Devour? Or the redesigned Wimp? Both serve as consistent sources for Friday Videos so if you're ever feeling like the playlist is a bit on the weak side, hit them up for further distraction entertainment. That being said, enjoy!
  • Bill Murray in "Fun & Games" - who doesn't love to see Bill Murray doing some Tongue Twisters? The man is always a treat.
  • Apple Campus 2 construction video - with all the hubbub over the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch you may have forgotten that Apple is building an enormous space ship over in Cupertino. Check out this progress.
  • Ten Walls - Walking with Elephants - I'm not overly compelled by the song but the video is the perfect balance of arty, absurd and entertaining. Finally, humans can be dolphins.
  • Longest 'usable' golf club - did you know the Guiness Book of World Records still exists? Did you know it takes on meaningful accomplishments like this?
  • "Neverland" by The dB's - Fascinating story behind this video. It was shot back in 1982 and sat dormant until 2008 when it was finally edited and released through a series of happy circumstances. The video may not be breaking any barriers but it's a damn fine song and a band worth investigating.
  • BOTHER // LES SINS - I'm calling this my new Theme Song.
  • Hair Style for Safety WWII - I love old propaganda videos and this one uses the term "witchlock" in reference to hair. Into it.
  • Mr. Go 3D Official Trailer - this is a Korean movie starring a believable 3D gorilla as a humans companion that is coerced into playing major league baseball. That's what I can glean from the trailer. Whatever it is, we don't have anything like it.
Still need more? Watch this or this - additional solid entertainment.

Have a great weekend!

It was an incredibly short week for me this week. How is it Friday? It feels like Wednesday. Regardless, I'm looking forward to the weekend and zoning out on videos like those below.
  • Run Walter, RUN!! - This has to be exactly what it felt like to ride on the back of Falcor, right?
  • Rammer Jammer Cheer - this is too weird not to include. I get the context but I like it even better approaching it completely ignorant as to what a "Rammer Jammer" is.
  • Oh! it's just me! - subtle but a nice surprise for this little Scottish Fold.
  • Unnecessary Explosions - I highly enjoyed this gallery of unncessary explosions and it seems there are plenty of youtube clips showing the same thing. A meme I can approve of.
  • Red Panda Does Pullups - the Nashville Zoo recently welcomed a new baby Red Panda. In celebration, watch this little guy do some pull-ups.
If you're looking for something more to watch - how about helping us increase the view count on this Icarus video for Mount Sharp? Gotta juice those numbers!

Have a great weekend.

Sorry for the slow posting schedule this week. I'm actually back in TN for a few days hanging with family and friends - thus, much less Interneting. Regardless, I found a few gems for you. Enjoy!
  • Worst Music Video Ever - they say Rock n Roll is a young man's game. Here's why.
  • Mega64 ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE!! - I actually have relatively positive feelings about the ALS social sweep that's been happening but I have very positive feelings about the sheer insanity and absurdity here. These guys are probably a nightmare to hang with in real life but it's a solid, weird, video.
  • Tammy and the T-Rex Trailer - Jurassic Park had a number of influences but this one is beyond words. Watch for al teast a full minute.
  • Now THIS is a Pool Pawty! - Sorry but I can't get enough of dogs in pools. That's some serious Feel Good.
  • 99 Beer Can Pack - 24 cans seems like chump change after you see this 99 can pack.
Happy Labor Day! Have a great one (even if you live outside the US).

What a week! I was busy busy busy but there is much goodness on the horizon. If you haven't heard the new Mount Sharp EP, please head over to Brooklyn Vegan and give it a listen. I'm excited for it's release and they're even touring a bit! Exciting stuff. Have a great weekend! If you haven't read this comic yet, please do so STAT.

Do you have big weekend plans? You should. Do something nice for yourself. You deserve it. Start it off right now by halting any amount of work you're invested in and just watching some dumb videos. Then go home for the day. You earned it.
  • Robin Williams Tribute - not to be a bummer but the loss of Robin Williams is a very sad occurrence. This is a touching tribute but go watch Hook this weekend for the full Williams goodness treatment.
  • Corn Dad (Official Video) - a father explains what portions of corn look like on a plate. I repeat, a father explains what portions of corn look like on a plate.
  • Basement Jaxx - Never Say Never (Official Video) - twerking technology can save a relationship.
  • First-person Hyperlapse Videos - kind of amazing new tech from Microsoft that shows how they're able to "smooth" out timelapse videos into a new, easier to watch, format called Hyperlapse. The examples are great! Hopefully this makes it out into the real world in some usable fashion.
  • Meow Mix Song EDM Remix - you wouldn't think a popular brand of cat food would be on such a relatively hip tip but this is EDM at its finest (jokes of course).
  • The Ship - a public domain music video from two of the guys that used to be in Doves. It's a great usage of this kind of footage - better than most actually - and a damn fine song.
  • White Men Can't Dance - if we're being honest, I couldn't make it through this whole video but I did enjoy the pink Delorean, because how often do you see that?
  • Paolo Nutini 'Iron Sky' - I posted about this recently but you really need to watch this video. At least twice.
  • The Amazing Spider-Man - Music from the CBS TV Series 1978/79 - did you know the soundtrack from the 70's Spider-Man theme was funky stuff? Get into it!
Have a great weekend. Seriously.

This week may seem a little heavy on the music videos but I promise they offer some serious entertainment. Enjoy the videos and, moreso, enjoy the weekend. If you still need a little something more, hit up the Summer Mix Series, enjoy some music, get inspired, and make a mix this weekend! Thanks.

First week back from vacation is always a bit more intense than just a regular week. So, with that in mind, watch these twice. You need your rest.
  • Verschleif 4k - even with zero explanation, this is an entrancing exercise in reduction. Then when you realize it's the best usage of an edge sander in an artistic environment, well, you're sold.
  • Backflipping beach guy - this seems fake. is this fake? can this be real?
  • Fox go FLOOF - The title is a fair representation of the bonkers nature of the owner of this domesticated fox but I just love seeing this little guy run around!
  • Pallas cat - I think I can say that this is easily my favorite video of 2014. Maybe I'll eat those words but a Pallas Cat investigating a camera with the stealth you would expect from a giant housecat is absolutely perfect. The GIF is pretty great too.
  • The Best Cover to Beatles - Come Together! - this is weird and then it gets weirder and then it maintains its weirdness. Throughout the song is strange but not unenjoyable.
  • Pallet Riding - not sure if this can be embedded but this guy riding a Pallet on the rails is pretty solid.
  • CMT's Coffee Corner - timelapse of Rachel Briggs drawing a huge wall mural at the CMT offices. Incredibly impressive.
If you find yourself lacking some vulgarity from this weeks playlist, dive into Peter K. Rosenthal's review of 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' - hilarious in its aggression.

Have a great weekend!

I'm off to Tennessee for a week. Blogging may be sparse to completely absent. It's been six months since I've been back and I am in dire need of soaking up some quality time with friends and family. If you're looking to hang out - hit me up. If you're looking for blog content to distract you - hold tight, I'll be back soon enough.
  • Perturbator - "She Is Young, She Is Beautiful ... " - still really hate the name of this band but the 8-bit hard sci-fi story here is just about enough to forgive them.
  • Wally Jurassic Park - if the new Jurassic Park sequel can get anywhere close to this awesome, it wins. But let's be honest, almost nothing is better than this!
  • KILL BILL (Vol 1 and 2) - 8 Bit Cinema - been kind of on a hardcore 8-bit nostalgia trip recently. Seeing videogames based on movies like this makes me yearn for a few days locked in a room playing an incredibly frustrating adaptation.
  • Excuse me... - wait for it.
  • I Dare You To Watch This Entire Video - pretty amazing College Humor piece that really takes you to task to test your every shortening attention span. I made it the full video because I'll be damned if some Internet video is gonna make a chump outta me!
  • What a dance by a chubby Korean baby! - and here's a refresher for you from that grueling 3 minutes you just spent watching the above video proving that you're still in control.
  • Fleetwoods Mr Blue Midnight Special - these guys are new to me and I'm enjoying their intensely melancholy tunes. Maybe not the most upbeat way to go out for a week but it's surprisingly pleasant.
Have a great weekend. And if I don't see ya - have a great week.

Another week, another playlist! Let's see what kind of distraction and humor I can drum up for you.
  • Greatest Home Run Call - is this real? Maybe not. Do I choose to believe? You better believe it.
  • Eff Ate - a fun little Zuckerberg edit from psql. I'm not as bitter about Facebook as many others seem to be but it's still funny.
  • Butter Ya'Self - if you told me that you had a gangsta rap video featuring a banana and a hot dog, I'd be intrigued but skeptical. Fortunately, it pays off.
  • Halt and Catch Fire Main Titles - haven't seen the show yet but, holy moly, these titles are rad!
  • Heavy Metal Video Game Tribute - at 17 minutes, this is a serious endurance challenge but I proudly (or sadly) proclaim that I made it through.
  • John Oliver vs Net Neutrality - another lengthy video but another proper pay off, particularly the plead to the Trolls. And it seems to have worked as well, as the FCC's site was broken for a few days.
  • Kitten Jam - Turn Down For What - think of a cat video and boil it down to its simplest elements. This is that form but still maintaining its entertainability.
  • Luigi Ridin' Dirty - Mario Kart 8 Death Stare from Luigi really took off this week and I'm enjoying it. See lots more.
Are there more awesome videos that you really must see? Yes. But I can only cover so much ground.

I can not believe it's almost June. Inconceivable. Don't ever let anyone tell you that as you get older the days go by slower. Patently untrue! Enjoy this week's playlist - this is the only spot you can see it!
  • Two Dots - if you've not played Two Dots yet, get to it! The gameplay and music are phenomenal.
  • Tipper Whore Party Program - this is basically what tonight will be like at The Stone Fox. If you're in the Nashville area, go see it.
  • 92 Dreamin - combine 80's aesthetic with Tony Hawk style skateboard interactions. Done.
  • Google Test Drive - taking the Self-Driving Car out for a spin. I guess I get why they made it look like a kids playtoy but it really doesn't fill me with a sense of safety when I look at this thing.
  • JohnnyExpress - awesome animated short featuring a lot of accidental mayhem.
  • Cutest Cosplay of All Time - if I ever have children, I hope to dress them like this 24 hours a day.
  • Edgar Wright - How to Do Visual Comedy - incredibly compelling case study on exactly what it is that makes Edgar Wright's filmmaking style so superior to your regular run of the mill comedy; it's in the edit.
Have a great weekend!

Trying something a little different this week. No permalink on the playlist - you wanna watch it, just click that gif and watch it here! Not that crazy but different enough for me to make note of.

Enjoy this playlist.. there's plenty of amusing content out there for you to enjoy, but I selected these in particular:
  • Hey Cat. Hey - let's start simple. Just a cat saying Hey.
  • The Spielberg Oner - kind of hate the term "oner" but this look at Spieldberg's use of long, continuous shots is nice. You don't think of him as using such a technique but that's just evidence of how good he is at it.
  • BUTTS - sometimes it's easy to cheer up a friend. Love the moon at the end.
  • "Her" Parody with Steve Brule - yes, these parody videos are highly overdone but the Steve Brule chortle gets me every time. I can't help it.
  • John Lewis 150th Anniversary - a very Wes Anderson-y commercial featuring Gaz Coombes singing a classic Kinks song. Hard not to like.
  • Broad City: Do The Right Thing - if you haven't watched the web series version of Broad City, you're missing out. This takes a good 3 minutes to really kick in but the reward is worth it. Stick with it.
Have a great weekend!
