The weeks where there are so many videos in the
playlist I worry that I'm forcing it.. but, honestly, I find all of these incredibly amusing for their own reasons.
- Wal-Mart Moonwalk - short, simple, sweet. I would go to Wal-Mart if I could be promised I'd see this.
- Pop Gear Dance - taken from a 1965 TV Special featuring a ton of British Invasion bands these little instrumental interstitials are just the perfect thing to improve any Friday afternoon.
- Inception Music Comparison - no spoilers, just a nice observation about the Zimmer score and the Edith Piaf song heard throughout the film.
- Dramatic Inception Cat - watch the whole thing, it gets funnier the longer you stick with it. Trust me. Via Zach.
- Iron Chef America Montage - I don't watch this show but the enthusiastic calls all cut together is pretty amusing. I wish it was a little faster paced... okay, this one is stupid but I couldn't resist.
- Banana Sax - pair this with Sexophone and you've got yourself an entire day of entertainment.
- Intruder Alert - listen, rape isn't funny. However, Antoine Dodson's commentary on it is. "Hide your husbands!"
- Hedonism II - I have so many questions about this but I know it's better to not have any of them answered.
- The Future of Music - youtube meme's edited together into one big mashup.. I suggest making it to the end portion with the Panda and David After Dentist. I suspect we're going to see a whole lot more of this sort of thing over the next few years and it'll never stop.
Have a great weekend.. you deserve it.

YouTube spruced up their Playlist management backend. Kudos YouTube. Here's the
Friday Video Playlist and the usual breakdown below:

You know the deal - here's the
playlist and the breakdown:
- Happiest DJ in the World - I love this guy so much. No mockery involved at all, I honestly love his enthusiasm.
- Skatt Brothers - SKATT ROLL'd - I'll be honest.. I've no idea what's going on with this but I find it ridiculous and hysterical. Give thanks to Davis for the absurdity.
- Sex Room - Paige and Kevin introduced me to this and made the great observation that there is not even a slight attempt at being clever here - it's just up front about everything. Ridiculous. I don't recommend watching more than the first minute.
- Miles Kurosky - The World Won't Last the Night - great video from ex-Beulah frontman Miles Kurosky done by my friend Mike Landry.. love the effects.
- The Incredible Sonovox - It's a new miracle of electricity! I could listen to music like this for days.
- Tracy Morgan's "Invictus" Audition Tape - a little long and it ends on a low note but Tracy Morgan being Tracy Morgan always has some gems.
- Gate of Hades iDosing - are you familiar with the up and coming drug trend called iDosing? Apparently kids are listening to "repetitive, atonal tracks" and receiving a high off of it.. sort of like a sensory deprivation chamber I assume. I love that it's called iDosing and it's so incredibly dumb to think of it as a drug threat.
Have a great weekend!

Hopefully this
playlist will kick off your long weekend just right. Enjoy it.
- Panda Cheese - never say no to panda.
- Retail Rage - the G20 closed a shopping center and this guy is pretty erked. I find this highly amusing.
- 3 Dog Fish - this is absolutely terrifying and I am warning you now it could easily become nightmare fodder.
- Cat Lassie - so dumb and predictable but I'm drawn to this kids terrible acting.
- 100 Greatest Movie Insults Of All Time - ten minutes of movie insults. NSFW language but lots of memorable snippets.
- Dog vs Vuvuzela: Dog Wins - pretty much perfect.
- The Best Dinosaur - stand up comedian "berates" audience for their choice in favorite dinosaur. If it's not an Ankylosaurus, it's crap. This guys knowledge of dinosaurs is pretty incredible; even if the angry mode can be a little much. Via WAXY.
BONUS
Have a great
weekend.

I hate to say I agree but I totally agree with
this article from the YouTube team regarding the wide adoption of the HTML5 <video> tag. Apart from the huge looming issue of a non-standard codec being used by the various browser outlets there's also the fact that HTML5 playback hasn't really shown itself to be as robust as what Flash can do. Imagine a standard YouTube embed and its ability to shrink the video playback down, show embed options, favorite, etc. All within the same widget-y area. I've not seen such a thing with HTML5. Or imagine a playlist of videos (you know - like
these) done with the HTML5 video tag - how would it handle multiple videos? Would it be an iframe and a ton of complicated Javascript thats not entirely support across browsers (thanks IE!)? I'm not saying it's not possible but it really does feel like Flash is the better solution in most of the cases.
Obviously I'm not trying to say anything disparaging about HTML5 - I think it is exciting and very promising move for the web - but I do see some legit concerns for some of the video handling in the future. A lot of the HTML5 markup seems like a step backwards instead of forwards but I'll be happy to eat my words on that.

Here's the
playlist and the breakdown below. Please don't forget to submit your
Summer Mix Series goods!
- Laurie Anderson - O Superman - I'm sure someone will cite some familiarity in here with Imogen Heap but keep in mind this is from 1981. It is mesmerizing.. I wish I could explain why.
- Highlights from Wildwood, NJ - Jersey Shore 1994. I want to see this movie... so many great quotes I don't even know where to start. via Paige.
- Got It At Ross - two challenges: 1) I dare you to make it through the entire thing. 2) I dare you to decipher if this is a viral video started by Ross or an actual rap song? Via Zach.
- Joe Biden on Joe Barton - This isn't a funny / quirky submission but should be seen. Biden gets a lot of guff for all his gaffe's but off-the-cuff speeches like this one are top notch. Really amazing insight, good to see why he's VP.
- Vuvuzela Canyon - This is, admittedly, incredibly dumb.. but the further along it played, the more I was drawn into it.
- Militant Rooster - dumb but appreciated.
- Cats in Bottles - the cats themselves are cute but the narration is the best part. Also via Paige.
- Banned iPad Promo - I know I fall square into the realm of Apple Zealots but stuff like this is spot on and hilarious. Not all the jokes hit home all the way but there are enough to make it worth your time.
Have a great weekend!

I will openly admit this weeks
playlist is a little heavy on the animal videos but it's well balanced with some other goods, as well as a few bonus videos to fill your palette completely.
BONUS
That's it! Have a great weekend everyone..

Yea, the
playlist looks short this week but there\'s a few quality
Bonus videos down there for you to enjoy so it should all balance out.
- Ultimate Warrior Anti-Smoking PSA - how is devouring a ton of cigarettes sending a message to not smoke?
- Better Call Saul: Badger - 1) If you aren\'t watching Breaking Bad, you are missing out completely. 2) Spend some time with Better Call Saul; so many great Bob Odenkirk-isms.
- Jerry - how in the world did I not know that Donald Glover (from Community) got his start with his own Sketch Comedy? There are a bunch of these.. watch them all.
- Yacht Rock Finale - I\'ve never really watched the Yacht Rock series but this finale is perfect; even without the proper context. Love it, especially Giorgio Moroder. Via Ryan.
BONUS
- Skateboarding Trick Goes... - extremely lucky and awesome capture.
- Dancing Alone to Pony - why do people do this? how are there pages and pages of people filming themselves? I\'m entirely baffled and somewhat entranced.
- Creepy Watson - poor videogame programming or intentionally creepy?
- PURE - absolutely impressive compilation of action movie sequences cut into one big long mega onslaught. Hard to imagine the time it took to do this so well.

Slow week this week? Somewhat but I think
these videos will still work to distract you for a little bit while we all wait for the weekend.
- Rick K and The AllNighters - If you haven\'t seen this video yet this week, it will soon be emailed to you by your wacky co-worker. Jump ahead to about 1 minute in to see the ridiculous drummer antics.
- BRODYQUEST - at first, I hated it. Then I stuck with it and ended up loving it. I think you will too.
- Cat Fights Mirror Cat - I love that the cat is not aware enough to realize it is seeing a reflection but is smart enough to think to attack behind the mirror. This will likely send me down into a YouTube vortex of \"Cat Fights Mirror\" related videos.
- Birds of Britain - this is much much dry\'er than what I usually serve up but there\'s nothing like some good ole fashioned British faux documentary to amuse me. The part about baby birds sold me.
- Bucket Head attacks VIP car - wait until the guy jumps off the car. Did you see that coming?
- Abe Lincoln - Whitest Kids U Know are crass, dumb and usually so far off the mark that I don\'t even bother watching an entire skit but this one does it for me. It\'s still crass and dumb but just the right balance.
BONUS
That\'s it! Have a great weekend.

Sadly, I am super busy this week / today trying to get everything ready for the show tomorrow - so
the playlist is just a meager six offerings. However, they\'re a quality six. So, enjoy.
- LOST: Unnecessary Censorship - with LOST being over now, this just feels right.
- Check It Out: Steve Brule - the new Tim & Eric spinoff, Check It Out! with Dr. Steve Brule has started airing and you need to be watching it.
- Cat Water Skiing - make no mistake, Crispin Glover has always been weird.
- New Coke Machine - this isn\'t really weird but, rather, just interesting. 1) The narrator is VERY excited. 2) The interface is about as Back to the Future 2 as you can get.
- Cafe du Nord - using vintage footage for your music video may not be anything new but something about this one seems way more spot on than usual. Check the dude at 1:10 to see what I mean.
- Big Train: Office Prankster - somehow I missed the boat on the BBC Sketch Show Big Train and am just now catching up. This sketch is a pretty good introduction to their absurd style.
Bonus
Have a great (extended) weekend!

Slimmer pickings in this weeks
playlist but there\'s bound to be something in there.
- Luckiest Bowler Ever - I would like to attempt to recreate this at my local alley at least once a week.
- Cat Fights Babysitter - the build up is worth the payoff.. that cat really goes nuts on the sitter. Why she opts to pick up the child as a defense mechanism is beyond me.
- Jessica\'s \"Daily Affirmation\" - I consider myself a pessimist so I assumed there was no way I was going to enjoy a video of a small child affirming all the great things in her life. I couldn\'t help it, her enthusiasm is captivating. If you can make it 13 seconds in, you\'ll be hooked.
- Barts Blackboard - illustrator Mat Williams decorated Work-Club with every line written from The Simpsons blackboard. See the results up close here.
- Winnebago Man: The Movie - one of the most famous Internet clips becomes a documentary and, honestly, it looks great. Jack Rebney holds up after all these years.
- LOST: All The People Who Died - with LOST wrapping up this weekend this only seems appropriate. Obviously if you haven\'t seen the show, this will contain spoilers. You can cross reference all this here.
Bonus:
- Hail Storm Oklahoma City - absolutely nuts but a bit monotonous at 4 minutes long. Skip ahead a bit and see how mind blowing the onslaught gets.
- Meet the sloths - good luck having this not make your day 100x better.
Enjoy your weekend folks!

Either my sources for weird videos are stepping up their game or I\'m just getting better at finding the sources - maybe both - but parring down videos this week to a digestable amount was not super easy. So much good stuff out there. Anyway, here is
your playlist.
- Hand Washing Urinal Fail - the shock on the reporters face is completely awesome. I love that the man in question is obviously an American redneck.. it couldn\'t be any other way.
- Matt Berry Keyboard Commercial - weird but entirely enjoyable from my perspective. Thank you Honor Student.
- Worst Wedding DJ Ever - here\'s the deal. I don\'t want to believe this is real. The woman\'s reaction is nonexistent - which means this is either a regular occurrence or she was instructed not to react. I honestly hope this ends up being viral marketing; otherwise it\'s just a very sad slice of life.
- Show Me What You Got, Spectral Tarsier - it\'s the simplest videos that work the best for me.
- Kitten suckles air - the slow (and constant) zoom in makes this ridiculously great.
- Cat Gurgle - yea, that\'s right.. another cat video. The sound is hilarious, deal with it.
- Dan Aykroyd on Aliens - Paul points out that either Dan Aykroyd has gone completely bonkers or he\'s involved in some insanely clever Ghostbusters 3 promotion.
- Walk on Water Engineering - \"Liquid Mountaineering\" - obviously this is some viral marketing but they\'ve done a good job at taking something completely absurd and taking it completely seriously.
Bonus:
Have a great weekend!

The material contained within here is perfectly fitting for Friday Videos but that\'s so far off it\'d be a shame to hoard the enjoyment for that long. Basically, a man going by the name of Kenny Strasser, aka K-Strass, is convincing local morning news shows across the Midwest that he is a Yo-Yo champion touring schools to raise awareness. The truth of the matter is, he is none of that; as he quickly and hilariously proves when put to task to actually accomplish a Yo-Yo trick.
The hoax is a pretty brilliant one and excellently executed. You believe K-Strass even when he\'s failing completely and the local news platform is absolutely perfect for this sort of hoax; as they have to have dumb filler content all the time. So, please,
watch his appearances and keep an eye out for more.. he may have struck gold in more than just those three videos.

Either it was a slow week or I missed something.. regardless, a solid
playlist but far from the craziest. I think you\'ll enjoy.
- Theodore Rex - a movie starring Whoopi Goldberg as a cop, in the future, with a Dinosaur for a partner. It\'s hard to believe this is real but there it is.. staring you in the face. Via Paul.
- Digital Scream - I know awkward 80\'s videos are a dime-a-dozen but there\'s something about this one that seemed particularly noteworthy...
- Obama Sings National Anthem - no, the coal mine disaster is not funny, at all. But Obama accidentally pulling an Andy Kaufman and singing along with the National Anthem is hilarious.
- Kids Ghillie Suits - this is not a joke. This is not intended as humor. The delivery of narration is honest and straightforward. For this, I award it Favorite Video of the Month.
- Robot Mouth Tralala - nightmarish.
- Best Cry Ever: Auto-Tune Remix - yea, it\'s an easy joke but it\'s still good.
Bonus
- Lots-o-Huggin Bear - not a particularly weird commercial until it hits you that this is a Toy Story 3 viral video.. very clever.
- Aziz Ansari Movie Awards Promo - the first of many I am sure. Not the funniest thing he\'s done but good to see.
- Drunk History: Nikola Tesla - so good. Even the part with the puking is awesome. John C Reilly and Crispin Glover nail the lip syncing to his drunken rantings.
That\'s it! Have a great weekend!

Tube Tape takes a YouTube playlist and converts it into an audio mixtape. Simple stuff. All you have to do is tag the playlist ID on to the end of their URL and it does the rest of the work.
Here is an example using last weeks Friday Videos but, obviously, if you had a playlist comprised of music / music videos - you\'d be working in the best direction.

As usual, enjoy the goods..
here is the playlist. I think there are some gems in here this week.
- I am a Disco Dancer - Jamie sent me this video and I was sold in the first 15 seconds to its greatness. It\'s over seven minutes long but I think you can sustain throughout the whole thing and be incredibly entertained.
- Drifting - short, sweet and completely impressive.
- Stop Boring Hugh Laurie - I realize a lot of talk show questions are repeated / canned but seeing them all compiled like this is sad for Mr. Laurie.
- Green Men at Playoffs - thank goodness for the influence of It\'s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
- Wasted Guy at Coachella - I\'m sure this sort of thing is a dime-a-dozen at any festival but there\'s just something special about watching this guy reach for his flip-flops and juuust not quite making it.
- Iron Man & AC/DC vs Dirty Dancing - this guy has several videos mashing up classic films with his 3D model of Iron Man and it is too absurd not to enjoy. Aside from the fact that it\'s so well done it\'s also just entirely hilarious.
- Hawaiian Punch (1987) - written by Mark Mothersbaugh this ad is quintessential 80\'s. It\'s entirely too long, has laughably bad computer effects and, in no way, inspires me to drink Hawaiian Punch. For all of those reasons, I love it.
- Hey Guys! - It\'s only 2:23 but I dare you to watch the whole thing. Falfa points out that after a little bit, it just sort of blends into sounds.. not words. I agree.
- As Seen on TV - You\'re Doing It Wrong - a great compilation of infomercials featuring people having the hardest time doing the simplest things. Via Chad.
Let me know if I missed out on anything absolutely
must see this week.. and always feel free to email me stuff you think may be worth for this little weekly compilation.
Have a great weekend!

Please watch the bonus video this week.. Samsung removed the video due to copyright violation but Rich Fulcher and lots of absurdity is involved, so don\'t miss it. Here\'s the
playlist and the breakdown...
- Do Ducks Blink? - perfectly dry. It\'s like Look Around You but more infographics. Via Chris.
- Jääkaappi - I apologize in advance for sharing this but it was too weird not to...
- Hambone Kneeslap - something pure to cleanse your palette.
- Vicious Dog Man - go guys a little too nuts in his imitation of some crazy dogs. The edit on it is perfect.
- Best Cry Ever - wait for it... wait for it...
- Red Parka - after the first minute you may move along but that sixty seconds is not to be missed.
- Wes Andersons The Fellowship of The Ring - it\'s a bit of a bummer that the proper typeface wasn\'t used here; as that seems perfectly obvious but the Character Introduction shots are spot on.
- Punk Rock Kittens - I\'m sorry.. I should know better than to be amused by this but I can\'t help myself.
BONUS
- Masterpieces in 3D - Rich Fulcher narrates a walkthrough of new technology used to investigate great works of art.
Have a great weekend!

Remember last week when I was all
erked at YouTube\'s new layout and it\'s inefficient handling of playlist titles? Yea, well, they fixed it! I still think the overall page layout is fairly lacking but at least they\'re overcoming the technical hurdles.
Regardless, here\'s the
playlist.
- Sound Check Guy - at first it\'d be funny to think this was legit until it gets into some over the top physical violence stuff. Regardless, the sketch group responsible for it has some good stuff... via Keegan.
- The Magazine of Death - anything can be a weapon, even a magazine! For some reason old VHS training videos never get old to me. Via Courtney.
- The Holy Ghost - I never believe this sort of thing is real but, in this case, I\'m willing to embrace my suspension of disbelief. Via Andrew.
- Philippines Got Talent - just watch the first minute twenty seconds.. and marvel in confusion.
- Exit Through the Gift Shop - the first five minutes of the film.. a little preview.
- Dueling Carls - I sort of love how quickly this degrades into a massive wall of noise.
- Standing Cat - the music makes it... so good.
Bonus / Additional:
- Kyp Malone: Film Critic - a bit too self aware on the whole but Kyp\'s burger rating system is admittedly funny.
- Insane Clown Posse - Miracles - I think just about everyone has already seen this sometime this week but, just in case you haven\'t, here it is. I think ICP is a bit too easy of a subject to laugh at but these lyrics / rapping are asking for it... particularly the part about magnets.
- Old Spice Commercials - if you haven\'t seen the onslaught of new Old Spice commercials directed by Tim & Eric, you need to take a moment right now to partake.. they are, as you\'d suspect, quite weird. Though, as posted last week, this one is still the best.
Have a great weekend!
