I probably won't be on the computer too much tomorrow.. so here are your Friday videos, a day early! Not exactly "Independence Day" themed but a healthy reminder that in a free society you can be as weird as you desire.
Many thanks to Joey for the Citreon commercial - more of that variety can be found here.
Also, if you have a moment this weekend be sure to check out this super creepy Twittering Teddy - a Teddy Ruxpin doll that has a text-to-speech conversion kit running.
The Andy Rooney Game is brilliant and simple. "Remove everything but the first and last sentences from Andy Rooney's segment on 60 Minutes." There are a bunch of them and they never get old. Via JNonFiction.
"Advanced Fast Hand Finger Wizard Master Class" was created by Brendon Small - co-creator of "Metalocalypse" and "Home Movies." It's really long but the first 45 seconds are well worth a watch.
"Strong Kids, Safe Kids" is an edutainment film about child molestation.. if you jump a minute in you will understand the serious weirdness of this one.
"Krystal the Sexy Fox" - WTF!?
BONUS! Andy Rooney on Bill Gates - it's hysterically obvious he knows next to nothing about computers except Bill Gates is to blame.
The videos this week actually aren't that weird but they are fairly random. The 'Principal Blackman' clip is from Strangers With Candy and serves as an excellent reminder that if you haven't watched the show, you're missing out.
Enjoy your weekend! I am off to NYC tomorrow to live / work / experience the city for a month (at least). It may take me a few days to get acclimated once I'm up there but once I do, mostly-regular posting will continue.
Okay, so the Friday Videos are a bit early this week because I'm off to SXSW today and seriously doubt I'll be on the computer all that much. If this post looks weird to you - be sure to shift+refresh to snag the latest CSS updates...
If you're in the Nashville area this Saturday, please attend the opening of the Smallest Art Gallery... I've seen all the work that is going up and it is seriously amazing. Not in a kitschy way either; just because it is a small canvas doesn't make it any less impressive.
Alot of these videos require some patience. "Furby Gurdy" gets better about 1:30 into it. "Incredible" starts slow and then gets, well, incredible. "Baby, I'm Black" gets better as it goes but is entirely the opposite of subtle - it's crude and to the point.. in the best way (via Nick).
The "Raptor Goodness" requires no patience and pays off immediately. Thank you Daniel.
Lasagna Cat is probably one of the weirdest things I've encountered on the web in awhile. I don't find it particularly funny and I think that's sort of the point.
The "Infomerical Aesthetic" video is real tough to get through the first minute but then it picks up in the weirdest of ways. Certainly not for everyone but mesmerizing for some (myself included).
