Good news - Autolux signed to The Cohen Brothers record label, DMZ Records (distributed by Columbia) and carla's new elbow is in working order to record the new album in October. Wonder if they'll have a simultaneous release with Year Of The Rabbit.. that'd be entertaining.

If you failed to pay attention the first time - please listen up now. You must own a copy of the 5-song demonstration CD from Autolux. They are re-stocked and apparently have new packaging.. so please muster up that hard-earned $10 and order it.

Someone go buy me this autolux poster. Why? Because it's cool.. don't question me.

Nice music industry rant from Steve Albini entitled "The Problem With Music." That basically goes through the whole process of how screwed a band becomes by signing to a major - pretty interesting, though not really surprising news. DIY attitude is the way to go. Autolux recently revealed they are going to sign to a label, and I can only hope that they don't get this screwed, I'd hate to see such an amazing band get screwed. Link via david bean.
