8-Bit Generation

The trailer for 8-Bit Generation sells a pretty compelling story around Jack Tramiel, the head of Commodore Computers and his rise to dominance over IBM, Apple and Texas Instruments in the early 80's. His reputation has been likened to Atilla the Hun, Jabba the Hutt and Darth Vader; not exactly pleasant company to keep.

In 2017, it's hard to imagine that the archaic blocks of early home computers were the result of a cutthroat arms race between such big companies but that's only due to our modern perspective. Those early home computers were as groundbreaking as an iPhone, if not more. Tramiel was, almost without question, an asshole in business but he certainly changed and formed our current world.
