It's unclear if this photo series of the Abandoned Russian Space Project is the Baikonur Cosmodrome or not but given that the Cosmodrome is, supposedly, still operational I hope it's not. I don't know an exhaustive amount about the Russian space program but if the shuttle pictured in the series is actually the Buran then the photos are from before 2002.. as the craft was demolished in a hangar collapse.
