I don't claim to know much of anything about city planning but I'm certainly fascinated by this
Superblock plan being implemented in Barcelona. Basically, they will quadrant the city into super blocks (nine blocks of existing blocks) and restrict traffic to locals only in an attempt to cut pollution (noise and otherwise) but a significant portion. It's surely going to upset people in the short term but the communities and open spaces it creates in the long term seems like it'll be worth it. Oh, and that photo of the city is unreal. Love it.
