I don't like being dedicated to any TV show - I'd rather choose doing something with friends over being glued to the set. However, I do try and catch Six Feet Under and Real Time when they are on. I just saw the latest episode of Real Time with Michael Moore, Republican David Drier, and the former Prime Minister of Canada Kim Campbell (also a boring Andre 3000 and special guest fevered Ralph Nader).. and I must say.. Michael Moore was infuriating. True, the Republican bringing points against him hadn't seen his movie and was doing his job to tow the party line in defense of the President but there was no attempt to keep things civil. Open debate does not mean you get to yell a lot or refuse to listen to the other party. What's going to be more effective.. saying the same thing over and over with more intensity each time or listening to someone else and bringing up a seriously valid point backing up your defense?

But I will say this - that show is asking good questions and Bill Maher actually does a great job of mediating 95% of the time. I hope that as the months go on more and more talk exists here about the issues. I know political posts can be boring but I think it's kind of an important thing for all of us to inform each other about why we think the way we do.

But don't fret.. I'll still post plenty of the typical stuff.
