I wasn't going to comment on this after I saw it on Nicks page, but then I saw it again on whatevs and have to throw in my two cents. The new Britney Spears album cover is not good. It is, in fact, very amatuer and teetering on the side of quite lame. Aside from the fact that the name of the album is terrible.. you've got the fact that the photo is not interesting, the typeface choice is bad, the placement of the type is boring, and the dropshadow on it just makes it worse. This looks like it was created in Nero's "Cover Designer."
For someone with such a high profile name, you'd think that they'd not only want a good cover, but could afford one. Other albums like this fall into the same category. Granted, debut albums may not have the monetary backing that the followup does but I am just perplexed by the quality level here. Is it because these albums are trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator musically that they have to look that way on the shelf too? You don't have to be huge to have a cool cover... anyone have some input on this?
