Broadly

posted July 5, 2016 #

If you aren't familiar, Broadly is a offshoot of VICE that focuses on "representing the multiplicity of women's experiences." That's a heady description that should just simply read "interesting journalism." I took a deep dive over the weekend and watch a bunch of reports on their channel, each more interesting than the next. I highly recommend Bros Who Vape, Inside China's Last Matriarchy, The Power Suite and The Fashion of Authority and Vagina Art and the Paradox of Japanese Censorship Laws. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I look forward to watching pieces on New Orleans All-Female Biker Gang, Bulgaria's Virgin Female Bride Market and This Cult Nail Artist.

VICE has really blossomed over the past few years into a legit news source with a style that strays completely away from anything stodgy or overly manufactured. Broadly maintains this vibe but their topics, thus far, seem to be more interesting than they are crushingly depressing. I look forward to more.
