It's been
years since I did a deep dive on the work of Seattle-born, LA-residing
Cleon Peterson. His work always struck me as gleefully chaotic and it's only intensified over the years. There's certainly some overt social commentary in the work mixed along with demonic beasts battling for power. It still lands a bit on the side of Disturbing but the style itself has certainly improved over the years.
