compliance!

After talking with Arlo a little bit about W3C compliance, and how Mozilla is much more compliant than IE is, I wondered about the next version of IE that Microsoft will inevitably release. If they opt to become more compliant with the standards, they run the risk of making alot of web sites look really bad.. but if they don't opt for more compliance, then they run the risk of alienating themselves from the developer community more than they already have. My theory is that the W3C should maybe adopt some compliancy rules that work along with Microsoft.. just like Bill Gates wants it.
