David Barnes is best known for his artwork that adorns the covers of
Of Montreal albums, fronted by his brother Kevin. There's plenty of great interviews out there about
his process and his
latest projects but I'm really smitten with his
sclulptural work. The Big Cartel shop -
The Bee with Wheels - is filled with found objects that have been reworked into the acid-soaked, insane creature filled world that Barnes creates. He calls them "Ummels" and they are
fascinating to say the very least.
