Forget Cassettes - 'Instruments Of Action' 2018 Vinyl Reissue
posted April 17, 2018 #
In 2003, Forget Cassettes released their debut record Instruments of Action. It was - and is - a ferocious record filled with tension and explosive moments. Now, fifteen years later, my label yk records is reissuing the record on vinyl for the first time. It's available to order right now.
I went to high school with Beth Cameron, the driving force behind the band, and saw Forget Cassettes very first show in a tiny club. However, my interest in reissuing the record isn't steeped in nostalgia but, rather, in shining a light on a powerful female voice that I've had the utmost respect for across a 25-year friendship. Beth's songs are able to emote complete desperation and isolation while turning on a dime into a fiery outpouring. This record is still a force to be reckoned with and I hope a new generation of listeners can discover it with this reissue.
We packaged the record in a gatefold jacket with a coke bottle clear LP and have included an exclusive 7" with two previously unreleased songs - an alternate version of one of the album tracks and a live cover of a PJ Harvey track.
Long story short, here's a great record available on vinyl for the first time, ready for you.
